So last night I got the opportunity to talk with Steve Pfiester (Trainer/Host, ABC's Fat March) and get his take on the show, his role as a trainer, and his advice for those looking to apply for a reality show to get fit. Normally, when I call the Pfiester household, I'm chatting with Bonnie, and Steve's passing by in the background (as most husbands are apt to do), mumbling random things.
After the initial "Hey, how's it goin?" and typical conversation pleasantries, I jumped in and started asking Steve about Fat March. Boom! You could feel how much he cared from the instant shift in his tone of voice. This show, and the people in it have taken root in Steve's heart, and he's fiercely dedicated to them.

At last week's surprising nomination ceremony, Bonnie put up Rock & Julia. Chef Ramsay chose Julia to leave Hell's Kitchen but promised to personally send her to culinary school. No one expected Julia to leave and everyone takes the news hard. There are tears all around even from Rock!

Dick is convinced that Jen went against him, attempting to vote out Kail. Actually, it was Eric but as America's Player, he has to keep that under wraps. Nick and Amber speculate that it was Jessica who went against the house. Amber really thinks it's Nick. Paranoia is spreading throughout the house. Lucky for Eric, his name hasn't been mentioned once. Dick decides it must have been Nick and is now gunning for him.

On last Wednesday's (July 25) episode of "American Inventor," using the criteria of innovation, mass appeal, marketability and passionate pitch, the judges whittled down the six finalists to three. America was then called upon to vote to determine who will win the million-dollar prize and the title of American Inventor, which will be revealed in the season finale episode on August 1.

January of this year, I found myself in the midst of casting for The Biggest Loser and ABC's then unnamed show (Fat March). As a woman who had completely let herself go, from being a fit and toned 150, to a massive 248, I saw the chance to be on these shows as my golden ticket. I could go away for 2-3 months, only worry about taking care of myself, leave the responsibilities of my art business, motherhood, domestic chores behind.
In my heart of hearts, I did not think that there was any other way to lose the weight I had put on in the past 7 years. So what happened? I went along in the casting process, further than many, not as far as some, but enough to make an impact. I didn't want to do it again. It was an emotional roller coaster for sure!
