A little more than a year ago, Kris Allen was just a regular guy from Arkansas but all of that changed in May of 2009, when he was crowned the season 8 winner of American Idol. He went on to release two successful singles - first, "Live Like We're Dying" and most recently, "The Truth". Now, he's out on the road, playing packed venues around the country and opening up for artists such as Barenaked Ladies and Keith Urban. We caught up with Kris today

Last night, on The Next Food Network Star, Darrell "DAS" Smith was eliminated from the competition for several reasons. First, the judges felt that, though he had improved in front of the camera, he wasn't progressing quickly enough. Tonight, on The Next Food Network Star, the contestants meet with Bobby and Giada to find out their next Camera Challenge. They'll choose peppers on a first come, first serve basis and create a dish around it. The winner will be featured on the menu at all 3 locations of Bobby's Flay's restaurant, Mesa.
