Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: Did you watch prior seasons of The Biggest Loser?
A. Jay, The Biggest Loser Couples: I had never watched it in the past, I watch more sports than anything. When Mark and I started the casting process I rented season four and really liked it since unlike other reality shows everyone who participates in the Biggest Loser comes home with a positive change in their life.
Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: Mark told me you two were approached to be on the show after a baseball game at Fenway, how did that go over?
A. Jay, The Biggest Loser Couples: Mark probably told you we took or daughters to a baseball game. The girls got a bit restless so we left early and as we walked out we were approached by a casting director who asked if we would be interested in being on The Biggest Loser.
Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: Your brother said you two were a bit caught off guard and somewhat taken back when asked if you wanted to be on a weight loss show.
A. Jay, The Biggest Loser Couples: I did have a few not so nice things to say when we were approached. I was like, what
are you and asshole, but it was all tongue and cheek. Then Mark and I looked at one another and realized we did need help, so it was a blessing in disguise.
Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: You and your brother really dominated in the challenges and lost a ton of weight, what do you attribute that to?
A. Jay, The Biggest Loser Couples: I have thought about that myself and I don’t know what to attribute it to. We are
both very competitive but we also got lucky at times.
Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: What about the deal with Jackie? She felt like you guys lied to her face and kicked her out when you four agreed not to do so.
A. Jay, The Biggest Loser Couples: I think we have all had time to sit and reflect, in hindsight we didn’t handle it that way we should have. We all should have been more upfront with one another.
Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: Talk to me about your workouts while on the campus.
A. Jay, The Biggest Loser Couples: The training was insane, when you watch the show at home you might assume the cast works out a few hours a day but in reality we worked out seven hours or more per day.
Q. Mark: RealityWanted.com: OK, I have to ask you about the squeal heard around the world when your wife showed up during your runway gig with Tim Gunn, I can only assume your buddies are having fun with it.
A. Jay, The Biggest Loser Couples: Now that I am back at work I am constantly reminded of it. Of all things I picked up the copy of prevention magazine we shot for and I was the only guy in it, so they must have liked the squeal since it’s a magazine for women.
Well, thank you so much for spending time with us today. Congratulations on your new body and way of life and I look forward to seeing you at the finale.
