Joe is a 55 year old cowboy from Wyoming with a PSR of 7.1 and Andrea is a much younger personal trainer from Moab, UT with a PSR of 6.6. They are placed together in Namibia with no hope of a romantic connection even though Joe is looking for his "mountain woman"... Andrea is gay. Besides the pot given to them, she brings along a fire starter and he brings along a knife.

The Zambezi region of Namibia is home to the big 5: cape buffalo, African lion, black rhino, nocturnal leopard and african elephant. It also has the most dangerous threat to humans, killing over 3,000 people per year, the hippo. They bite, crush and drown their victims. On night one a huge hippo visits their camp, investigating and even chewing down on a night camera.

Speaking of night, looks like Joe is a very touchy feely guy and very Catholic. This makes Andrea uncomfortable about coming out to him. It also makes her main priority by day 4 clothing. When she finally does tell him that she's a lesbian he tells her that he is 100% supportive. Once she feels comfortable with her partner emotionally she lets out her inner turmoil about the terrible things she witnessed while in law enforcement. It becomes clear that her mission in Namibia is tackling her own personal demons.

By day 13 Andrea has not had a bowel movement and she is really concerned, giving daily updates on her waste. Even Joe bring down their shelter while they slept didn't cause her to poop her grass woven pants. Over 45 minutes the fire burns itself out and Joe takes the embers to build another fire nearby.

For their extraction they'll have to maneuver the swamps. To successfully get through the water they build a sturdy reed raft. Over a mile of swamp then hike through razor sharp grass land to their extraction point. By the end Joe lost 21 pounds and his PSR rose to 8.0. Andrea lost only 7.5 pounds (due to her bathroom issues) and her PSR rose to 7.5.
