The Top 8 performances were a mix of classic songs and showcased many a powerful moment amongst the artists.

(5/6/15 Update : Video interviews with The Voice Top 6)

Meghan Linsey set the mood for her performance by donning dramatic black attire with her blond hair pulled back. She was surrounded by violinists seated on white steps on either side of her, and the stage looked great. She performed "Something" a very good song, but both the stage and her voice could have handled something a little more dramatic - like an Adele ballad. Set Fire to the Rain would have been the perfect song for her, or even if she chose to do like Kimberly did and turn a classic into a new creation it would have been better. Kimberly performed Radiohead's "Creep" as a slow ballad and not only did it stick to her rock n roll genre, but it really worked with her voice and style. She was consistent as ever and delivered a great vocal performance, ending the song, sitting on stage.

Sawyer Fredericks and Joshua David both hit it out of the park. Joshua has a beautiful performance with "Fields of Gold" and Sawyer, Voice wonder boy amazed with "Simple Man". His raw talent is truly inspiring, even more so when you remember he's just the simple son of farmers who used to perform at farmer's markets. Perfect song for him!

India Carney hit the stage in a long, flowy white dress to perform "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and I really didn't care for her voice on this song. Her voice is really deep and throaty, so she needs to be singing songs that compliment that. Some Florence and the Machine or even a little Joni would be good for her. I hope they get it right next week.

Another performance I didn't care for was Cory Kent White. He did "When I See You Smile" which was good enough, but it didn't have a powerful moment and he didn't improve in any way. I guess I expected more, considering he is the only country artist left in the competition. It just seemed a bit lackluster. Hannah Kirby on the other hand, had a fun and powerful performance with " We Don't Need Another Hero". Her stage energy and her vocals were amazing. She started off the performance alone on stage and then she was joined by an entourage of dancing kids wearing white jean jackets, contrasting her black attire. Perfect!

Koryn strayed away from the classic song formula of the night and performed the acoustic version of the Alicia Keys' hit "Girl on Fire". The song's range allowed her to showcase her soft vocals and her powerhouse notes - it was the perfect song for her voice.

When it came time for eliminations, Joshua and Sawyer were saved first by America followed by Meghan, Kimberly, and Koryn. This left Cory, Hannah, and India in the bottom three, forcing them to perform for their chance to be instant saved. India was saved and she will be continuing on with Team Christina.

Stay tuned for next week as the Top 6 performs!
