Julia Landauer of Survivor: Caramoan

Julia's strategy in the game of Survivor was to fly under the radar, but it may have been the very thing that cost her the game. After the tribes were switched up, the favorites found her to be boring but one in particular tried to reel her in. Phillip was hoping to add her to Stealth R Us, but when she tried to make a play against him, all eyes turned to her. After a tie vote between her and Michael, she was voted out of the game and we talked to her about her Survivor experience afterwards in an exclusive interview.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: As a fan, what was your reaction to being part of the second season of Fans Vs. Favorites?

A. Julia: Well, I was a little disappointed solely because I had watched the previous season and the fans had gotten obliterated. We were always so close in challenges. On the one hand, it's flattering that I waas selected but I wish it was a more organic Survivor experience.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: In the beginning, your tribe had that huge divide between Reynold's alliance and then Sherri, Shamar, and the others. Who were you working with and loyal to?

A. Julia: I was closest with Matt, Michael, and Laura. They didn't really show any of that. I was on Shamar's no talking list too, that he brought up at tribal. I'm not a drama queen, my idea of laying low didn't backfire that much, I don't think. I had fun waiting each week to see if I'd talk on any of the episodes!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: After the tribe switch up, Corinne called you boring, and Cochran said you weren't even vanilla. Did their comments bother you at all or no, because it was all part of your strategy?

A. Julia: Well definitely being on the quieter side, I didn't really intend to lay that low. Cochran... that's interesting. He wasn't forceful with ideas and didn't contribute a whole lot. I'm surprised he went on such a long monologue about vanilla. You're beating a dead horse at that point! Let's move on to bigger and better things. I've had to deal with a lot of criticism in my life and I have pretty thick skin. Survivor is not for the weak.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Phillip was really trying to bring you in to his alliance but he seemed to talk down to you when he was telling you a plan or giving you instructions. How did you take it?

A. Julia: Some of it was ... being as young as I am, I still look up to other people. Phillip did a lot of talk and not a lot of walk. He brought up Boston Rob all the time. He's frustrating and annoying, but what you see is what you get with Phillip, so that's good.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Much as I like Michael, he seemed like the better choice for the favorites to get rid of, given that he was playing a more aggressive social game and Corinne had taken to him. How did it end up being you?

A. Julia: After the immunity challenge, I was getting mixed signals from Phillip so I was really not comfortable. Body language suggested I was not safe so I was hoping Phillip really wanted to take me further. I was playing under the radar. The problem was that there wasn't really a favorite to go to about a blindside. My best potential person was Dawn and that backfired immediately. Had it worked, it wold've been so cool but Corinne made it clear she wasn't flipping before the merge.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Who are you most hoping to see in the final tribal council?

A. Julia: Michael was in my alliance, and if one fan was going to make it to the end, I hope it's him.
