Diamond White from The X Factor Season 2

by Todd Betzold

The live shows kicked off this week on The X Factor and with 16 acts left on the show, it was time to see them perform live in front of America. With all the pressure on them, the singers did an amazing job and the mentors were left making a very hard decision on who to keep and who to send home from their team. One of the big shockers of the night was when Britney Spears sent home Diamond White. Today, she talked with RealityWanted in an exclusive interview about making the Top 16, performing on the live shows and much more.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: What made you initially try out for The X Factor?
A. Diamond: I watched the show last year and I thought it would be fun to try out. I asked my Mom if I could and it just so happened that my friends were auditioning too, so we all took the trip down just to see what would happen.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: You did make the Top 16, so what was it like performing on that stage live in front of the audience and for America to see?
A. Diamond: It was really fun and that was my dream and still is my dream. I'm going to keep shooting for it, but it was really fun and meeting all the contestants and hanging out and getting to perform on stage and makeup and costumes. It was really fun.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: A lot of people are shocked that Britney sent you home. You have had some time to think it over now and what are your thoughts on it?
A. Diamond: Everything happens for a reason, so the Lord has something better in store for me and I'm just going to keep going. I'm not going to stop here. It gave me a lot of exposure and I'm very happy I auditioned. Making it to the Top 16 out of all those thousands of people is amazing. I'm really proud of myself and I'm going to keep going.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: What was it like working with Britney Spears as your mentor?
A. Diamond: It was really awesome. She taught us how to actually be successful in the business. She's done it all. She's like a pro at this. She just taught us what she knew.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: What has it been like seeing yourself on TV throughout this season on X Factor?
A. Diamond: It was cool. I always imagined myself, like watching myself on TV. It was awesome and it taught me how to grow as an artist and to work out the problems and how to become a better artist.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: The contestants all seemed really close. It is a competition, but what was the relationship like among all the Teen singers?
A. Diamond: We are really, really close. Me, Carly, Bea and Arin are like best friends, so we're still going to be friends no matter what happens.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: What has this whole experience meant to you?
A. Diamond: It was just amazing to do this at such a young age and knowing that you got really far. It was awesome. I know what I want to do for the rest of my and it is this. As I get my career started, even after X Factor, I'm going to keep going and just be awesome. I'm really looking forward to my career after X Factor.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: You have a ton of fans out there supporting you and hating the fact that you were sent home. Anything to say to them that are reading this?
A. Diamond: I thank you to all my fans that are supporting me and I know that I got eliminated, but it's okay because you haven't heard the last of Diamond and I'm going to keep going. You never know, I could be signed to L.A. or Simon's record label.
