This week on The Biggest Loser, the teams are faced with an excuse that they've probably used for years and years - they don't want to step outside of their comfort zone. This week, they don't have a choice. Alison shows up at the ranch (which is never good) and informs the teams that they'll be working with the other trainer. Oh, the black team is not havin' this and end up breaking down and crying. They DO know they'll need to get a different trainer when they get home, right?
Each trainer has a different approach that the teams are not used to. Dolvett takes the girls to a ballet class and even dresses up in tights so that he can participate too. There's definitely a noticeable change in confidence in people like Emily and Cassandra, while Chris still seems to be a grump about just about every aspect of being on the ranch. Bob, meanwhile, takes great pleasure in working the red team to exhaustion during some outdoor workouts. Afterwards, he sits with Buddy to understand his story of losing his daughter when she was just baby. It's hard not to reach for a tissue during it - it's great to see him getting himself back after years of hurting so much.
In the challenge, teams have to dig through a pit of thick mud and retrieve 40 weights in order to win a 2lb advantage on the scale. It's especially important since the winning team will get to vote a member of the losing team out later. It's a close race but Mark helps bring the red team to a victory!
Knowing they might be in trouble, the black team tries to form an all female alliance but trying to bring Conda in wasn't a very smart move on their parts. Besides the fact that her brother is still in the game and they're basically asking her to turn on him, she's very tight with the other guys in the competition. Now, there's a target on people like Emily and Cassandra when they could have just tried to stay under the radar. When forming alliances, there's always a time and place for big moves and you need to be careful about who you try to bring in.
After grueling last chance workouts, here are the numbers on the scale:
Red Team (2 lb advantage)
Mark: -2
Buddy: -5
Kimmy: -2
Jeremy: -7
Kim: -4
TOTAL: -22 (1.91%)
Black Team
Cassandra: -3
Chris: -1
Megan: -1
Emily: -4
Conda: -3
TOTAL: -12 (1.21%)
Even though the black team wants Chris to go home, it's out of their control this week. The red teams decides that one of the biggest threats, Cassandra, needs to go and she can't help but break down before she heads out. Was it the right decision?
