On Monday night, Ben Flajnik met 25 interesting and eligible women on the season premiere of The Bachelor. By the end of the two-hour episode, five were sent home in limos without getting the chance to get to know Ben. Among those women was Amber and she spoke to RealityWanted and reporters in a press conference call about her short-lived experience on The Bachelor.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When I saw your interview earl on in the episode, I thought you'd make it past the first night for sure. It was surprising that you didn't. What was your reaction?
A. Amber: Um, you know I was a little surprised. I was a little bit disappointed as well. I did see that Jenna had gotten a rose and it kind of made me question it. I reflected on it and she was pretty fragile at that time. He didn't want to hurt her anymore.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: A lot of the girls were going all out to try to get Ben's attention. Did anyone's behavior stand out to you in particular?
A. Amber: I didn't see a lot of what went on between Jenna and Monica. I was pretty shocked that she was a little emotionally unstable. But it's a really long night of shooting and everyone's tired. Emotions can definitely be a little more exaggerated in that situation.

 

Q. Why did you want to be on the show?
A. Amber: Actually, I kind of did it on a whim. One of my friends is a huge fan of the show and she was going. I kind of questioned it at first and didn't really know if I wanted to. She kind of talked me into it and I didn't really have anything to lose.

 

Q. Had you seen last season of The Bachelorette? Were you happy it was Ben?
A. Amber: I actually did not. I watched the first and the last episode of The Bachelorette so I knew a little bit about him prior to going on. I was happy to hear that he was The Bachelor.

 

Q. Are there a couple girls that you thought stood out and you really liked?
A. Amber: I did see that he made a comment about Courtney. I could see how possibly she's one of his favorites. I'm wondering when he gets to know her... she seemed a little cold to me. One of my favorites was actually Nicki. She's from Texas and I thought they had a connection. I also thought he had a connection with Kacie.

 

Q. What was the girls' take on Jenna?
A. Amber: I honestly did not see everything that happened in the situation when I was there. Personally, I kind of thought she was a little bit of a hot mess. She got a little emotional, like I said, but it was a long night and everyone's tired. Drinking is involved and she had a couple too many drinks as well.

 

Q. We saw a lot more gimmicks than normal - the horse, the gramma, poems, raps... do you feel like you regret not having more of a gimmick?
A. Amber: There was stress going on and people were trying to show their personalities and find a connection with him. I'm more lighthearted, I like to joke around. I thought with talking and saying something that I thought might surprise him at the beginning would be my personality.

 

Q. Do you have any insight as to why you might have been eliminated so early on?
A. Amber: I still really don't know. I think that he has a little bit of time to talk... to try and get to know 25 girls. I didn't have any 1 on 1 time with him and as you know with the first episode, the time I did get, he was blindfolded. We didn't really get a chance to form a connection or form chemistry. We just had that initial meeting. If we would've gotten some time together, my personality would've definitely shined through and I might not have been eliminated.
