There were many tears shed and thanks given on last night's episode of The X Factor, but with all that love being shown we still must see two of the acts go home tonight.
If we weren't told enough last night by the judges or through tweets from the contestants, remember everyone: it is a double elimination tonight.
The show opens with a great performance by Kelly Clarkson...I love her, but is she switching sides from American Idol to X Factor? Then we get a group performance from the remaining acts.
Steve Jones then calls up Drew and Lakoda Rayne...we are getting into the results folks. After some drama and dragging it out, we find out that Drew is safe and Lakoda Rayne is the bottom act of the week and will be going home...it's about time in my eyes.
We then get to see a performance by Bruno Mars...fun times. Now it is time to get back to the results. The next five acts safe: Chris Rene (ugh), Rachel Crow (yay), Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro and Astro. That leaves Marcus Canty and Leroy Bell to sing for survival to see which one will be going home.
Marcus is up first and he keeps the tempo slow again and works it out. He shows us that he is more than just an entertainer on that stage...real good. It is now Leroy's chance to show the judges what he's got to stay in the competition. He is a great singer and has a great voice and I saw some emotion behind his lyrics tonight...a different side of Leroy...I enjoyed it.
It is time for the judges to cast their votes on who they are sending home: L.A. votes Leroy, Nicole votes Marcus, Paula votes Marcus and Simon leaves it to the vote and votes for Leroy...so, we are in deadlock and the judges lose their power. We go back to the vote by America and that act that got the lowest number of votes goes home...so both acts being sent home tonight were by America's votes. The act with the lowest votes is Leroy, so he will be going home.
The X Factor airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on Fox.
