Flipping Out Season 5

by Chandra Clewley

Employee reviews are happening at Jeff Lewis Design, on tonight's episode of Flipping Out and Jett is up next.  According to Jeff, he hasn’t been living up to his abilities. On top of that, Trace is delegating some of his responsibilities onto the new intern Vanina. Zoila is recovering and they have hired a temporary maid named Lupe that Jeff loves. She keeps the house super clean…and Jeff is dreading the day they have to let her go because Zoila is ready to come back to work.

Its 7 days before the opening of Chaz Dean’s salon, and Jeff is super frustrated with the fact that he never gets time with Chaz and yet he won’t let him make one decision without his okay. Chaz is super anal and Jeff schedules a haircut and asks him to give up some creative control. Chaz refuses, which really puts Jeff in a bad place.

At the same time, Jeff still has to manage his other properties, and Chaz’s assistant oversteps her boundaries by having Chaz’s other general contractor apply a backsplash that Jeff has still not gained approval on.  Jeff gets on the phone with Nuria, the assistant and has to tell her if she delegates more to Zack (the other General Contractor) then Zack will have to finish the job.

Jeff is super stressed, with 3 days left before Cole opens, and finds that Trace has been working on his own closet revisions, which just pisses him off.  Gage and Jeff have a sit down with Trace, and let him know that there is an arrogance that they find unnerving.  Jeff questions Trace’s loyalty and judgment, and in the end, fires him. Um, what?

Oh my God! Is Jeff caving under pressure? Why is he firing everyone? Fine, Sarah definitely needed to go, but Trace had so much potential!  According to Jeff, he had turned into a huge a-hole.  Jeff is really upset about letting go of Trace. He finally sits down with Jett and tells him that he is the lowest man on the totem pole, and that he is unnecessary. Jett is sure this is his exit, but instead Jeff tells him that until 2 p.m. he is going to be the house boy and after that, he is going to start learning some of the Project Coordinator duties.

And at the end, after 2 ½ years at Cole, the third bungalow is completed and they attend the opening party.
