The Biggest Loser 11

by David McAlpine

Last night on The Biggest Loser, the single Black Team was separated yet again--but this time not into two, but four teams. Yes, it would be black versus red versus green versus blue, each with a different trainer.

At this point, I've begun to wonder where they get all these shirts. The production costs must go up alone based on how many times they change teams every week. I get the whole point of making it competitive, but still. Come on, NBC.

Each contestant stepped up to randomly pick a color (and, therefore, a trainer) based on percentage of weight lost throughout the competition so far. After the drawings, the teams were:

Red Team (Brett)
Justin
Jen
Courtney

Blue Team (Bob)
Moses
Irene
Olivia

Black Team (Jillian)
Rulon
Hannah

Green Team (Cara)
Austin
Ken
Kaylee

Since Rulon and Hannah ended up on a team of two, they clearly needed some way to balance out with everyone else, right? Well, that's where this week's twist came in to play: Rulon and Hannah got to pick a third teammate from everyone who had been eliminated so far.

Hannah wanted to bring back Arthur, but Rulon didn't like Arthur's work ethic. Rulon wanted to bring back Jay, but Jillian said that Jay could win the whole competition if they brought him back.

Before we find out their decision, each team has an intense workout with their respective trainers. Bob takes his people spinning, while Jillian kicks the crap out of Rulon and Hannah at her beach house, then has a heart-to-heart with Rulon.

Brett takes his team on a nature hike, where Justin has his own breakthrough. Cara, meanwhile, takes Austin, Ken and Kaylee boxing and actually throws Austin into the ring against someone else. He's actually able to hold his own, too!

Finally, it was decision time and it was revealed that Jay would be coming back to join the Black Team, making Jen happy. According to Allison, Jay has lost 111 pounds so far and will have immunity this week due to weighing in midweek. There was no time to celebrate, though, as the teams had a challenge to get to.

This week, each team had to hold a weight up that equaled all the weight that those three had lost so far. If they dropped the weight, the entire team would be out of the challenge. The winner got a video chat from a loved one at home, and a much needed moral boost.

Green dropped out early since Austin, Ken and Kaylee all have family members on campus. Rulon is feeling weak from his shoulder injury and keeps badgering Hannah and Jay about letting go. Jay doesn't want to, but they end up agreeing with him.

Red and Blue last 45 minutes, at which point they can only use one hand. Justin lets go of his rope by accident, leaving Courtney and Jen to hold it up. Before they can drop it, Moses' hand slips, causing the blue weight to come crashing down and giving Red the win.

Later on, though, Jen, Courtney and Justin decide to give their prizes to the Blue Team, since Jen's dad just came back and Courtney's mom just left. This drives Olivia and Irene to tears, happy that she gets to chat with her family.

During the last chance workouts, Kaylee has a heart to heart with Cara and tells her that she thinks it's her time to go home. She's reached her goal weight and she's ready to hit the real world running, but Cara wants her to stay and fight until the end. The results of the weigh-in was as follows:

Blue Team
Moses: -3 (-0.99%)
Irene: -5 (-2.81%)
Olivia: -5 (-2.70%)
TOTAL: -13

Black Team
Jay: -7 [not counted]
Hannah: -4 (-2.27%)
Rulon: -5 (-1.49%)
TOTAL: -9

Green Team
Kaylee: 0 (0%)
Austin: -3 (-1.09%)
Ken: -7 (-2.59%)
TOTAL: -10

Red Team
Jen: -4 (-2.09%)
Courtney: -3 (-1.27%)
Justin: -2 (-0.80%)
TOTAL: -9

Kaylee reveals that she told Ken and Austin to throw the weigh-in, but Ken ends up losing enough weigh to send the Red Team to the elimination room. Kaylee is visibly upset, but Allison tells her she can leave at any time, though someone on red would still go home. Moses gives Kaylee a pep talk and she decides to stay, meaning Courtney and Justin, the two players on Red with the lowest percentage of weight loss, would be up for elimination.

Justin doesn't want to leave the way he is, but he knows Courtney has so much more to learn from the ranch, so he asks to be voted off. Everyone, minus his brother Rulon, honors his wishes and sends him home with lots of hugs and his head held high.

Back at home, Justin has used his signature call out to get people in his town and his family motivated to lose weight. Once 365, Justin is now 225 pounds and looks amazing!
