The Huissen House - Huissen, Netherlands

Of all the places GHI has investigated, this particular location seems like it could be one of the most haunted yet.  Built in 1775 and called the "Huissen House of Horrors," the old house continues to cause destruction in the lives of all who come across it.  Both the previous and current owner blame failed marriages, ruined careers, and financial hardship on the house.  Long ago a flood went through the town and the people sought refuge in the house because it was on higher ground but unfortunately the water got so high that even they perished.  4 women, one after another, hung themselves in the attic and nobody was able to understand why.  People have seen apparitions hanging from the rafters, strange sphere's of light in the corner of one of the bedrooms,  chandeliers shaking, heard woman's screams, sounds of a piano playing, and of course footsteps coming from the attic.

Kris Williams and team leader Barry Fitzgerald started their investigation in the upstairs bedroom.  Barry played a portable piano to try and replicate what others have reported thinking that this would stir up some activity.  It wasn't long before Kris believed she saw some movement down the hall and both of them started to hear footsteps coming from the attic.  They ran up to the attic and found nothing and did not experience anything else paranormal.

Joe Chin and Britt Griffith headed to the basement where the current owner got so sick he had to head to the hospital after spending too much time down there.  A feeling of "dread" has also been reported.  Joe and Britt could not track any high EMF readings, which can cause people to feel strange.  Both believed they heard somebody having a conversation but could not track it down.  Maybe something would appear as an EVP.

Paul Bradford and Susan Slaughter headed to the attic where the four women hung themselves.  Ironically it was something going on downstairs that caught their attention, so they headed down the stairs.  Paul heard his name get called.  They were able to catch these strange sounds on their recorder.

The team could not call the house haunted because they simply didn't get enough evidence in their one night of work but the stories will surely live on.

Ijmuiden Fortress - Ijmuiden, Netherlands

Built in 1876 to protect Amsterdam from foreign invaders, it wasn't strong enough to keep the Germans from taking it over in World War II and using it as a regional command center.  Previous to the building of the fortress, many people who died while digging out the canal around the fortress where laid to rest on that exact land.  Reports of a dog howling, doors slamming and locking people in rooms, and apparitions of soldiers are a few things experienced by visitors spending time in what is now a museum.  A room where the German army would bring prostitutes is said to cause women visiting the museum to feel sick and uncomfortable and some say you can see the word "Help" written in blood with UV lighting.  I'm sure the team won't pass up that opportunity.

Kris and Barry were the first to enter the fortress.  They headed to the lower level where narrow hallways not only make you feel claustrophobic, but they seem to go in all directions allowing you to easily lose your sense of direction.  Audible sounds starting popping up and Kris believed she may have seen something poke their body out of one of the rooms.  Barry then stated that he saw a hand grab the door before disappearing in the room.  They headed into the room but no other paranormal activities occurred.  Next stop was what is called the "pink" room.  This is the room where it's reported that the word "Help" is said to be spotted on the wall at various times with UV lighting.  They didn't see any words but did discover a hand print on the wall that showed itself under the black light.  They believed this hand was imprinted by someone who might have had some cleaning chemicals on their hand and simply touched the wall.

Brad and Susan headed to the "pink" room. They experienced a couple of doors slamming and nobody was around to do the slamming.

Joe and Scott Tepperman did their investigating in the dinning room.  They both were hearing some shuffling of footsteps and immediately started an EVP session.  Not long after this they both heard what they believed to be something breathing.

The team did catch some strange lights, like orbs, in the hospital area, on their video recorder that could not be explained.  An EVP revealed something saying "go to the right" to Barry, as he was asking if anyone was there.  Another EVP was caught with somebody saying "Help."  A final EVP was caught of somebody saying "Hi."

GHI called the fortress haunted and had the evidence to back it up.
