Earlier this year, Survivor launched an online casting call sponsored by Sears, bringing Jimmy T to Survivor: Nicaragua. Jimmy was chosen from over 2,000 applicants by Survivor's casting team to be one of the 20 contestants this season. The casting was so successful that the popular reality show has decided to try it again for next season.
Fans can visit the CBS.com and upload a 30-60 second video explaining why they think that can outwit, outplay, and outlast everyone around them. On January 11, the top 10 selected videos will be presented to the general public for a vote. Fans can vote for their favorite submissions until Tuesday, January 25, 2011. The winner will be flown to Los Angeles to audition for a spot on the show.
"The first Survivor casting call contest was a huge success and we are excited to partner with Sears to give fans another chance to win a coveted casting opportunity," says Jeff Clark, Vice President of CBS.com. "The response to our Survivor hub on CBS.com has been fantastic, and this contest will encourage fans to engage with all of the content we've provided for them, from photos to videos to interactive games. We're looking forward to a big turn-out this year from die-hard Survivor fans."
