On the season finale of The Amazing Race, doctors Nat and Kat ran an impressive last leg through the city of Los Angeles. They crossed the finish line first, making them the first all female team to win the race in 17 seasons! Today, we caught up with the pair to discuss the face, the friends they made along the way, and their monumental victory.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Congratulations! You must be so excited to be the first all female team to win The Amazing Race!
A. Nat: We are, we're thrilled. It's such a good honor.
A. Kat: We think it's about time!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You seemed to have good luck right from the start in this last leg. Did you feel optimistic from the minute you landed in L.A.?

A. Nat: We did. From the minute we landed, Kat and I had a gut feeling that it was going to be a good leg for us. There was a moment where I was like, "I think we're going to win this!" We had never said that before. We had never been so confident.
A. Kat: People think we're calm all the time but we were even calmer running this leg which helped.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You both to face some major things along the way, from Kat eating meat to Nat dealing with her fear of heights. How do you feel having been able to overcome those things and have it pay off in the end?
A. Nat: I think I'm just really proud of the way we ran the race. We wanted to run it with class and in a way that was true to how we live our everyday lives. I think one of the best things about The Amazing Race is that it does challenge you on a very deep level. To see us face some of our biggest challenges and overcome them is a really great feeling. I'm so proud of Kat with what she managed to do to that sheep's head. I'm still amazed I bungee jumped off that crane.
A. Kat: I think that one of the coolest things, what everyone saw on the finale, is that Nat was right back in the game again after the bungee jump. I thought she was going to need a good 30 minutes!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: It seems that bad taxi drivers have played a large part in the misfortune of many teams this season. What was your worst taxi experience on the race?
A. Nat: In Ghana, we had awful taxi drivers. We had one that broke down three separate times and we had to walk to get to the school. We had another one who wouldn't go where we were telling him to go. We've had our share of bad taxi mojos.
A. Kat: I think that's why, when we left the Rose Bowl, we made it a point to ask each driver about the clue in order to find the right taxi.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did having the notebook of all of the places you had visited help you in that final challenge, where you had to identify the greeters?
A. Nat: We had the notebook for several things. We kept notes of every leg, knowing there would be a challenge in every leg. We kept phone numbers, 1-800 numbers. We used that to keep all sorts of hints and reminders of things and for the end of the race to have as a souvenir. I think all teams had notebooks.
A. Kat: I think we would've done fine without it but it reinforced what we were thinking and made things smoother.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When Brook and Claire arrived at the finish line, they were so happy for you. What did their support mean to you?
A. Nat: We had a very great relationship with Brook and Claire. When we first met them, they said, "Girl power! We want a girl team to win!" We kept that in mind throughout the race. We enjoyed working together and we goofed off during down time. They're friends of ours for life.
A. Kat: Even on our flight back from Korea, we turned to each other and said, "We're going 1-2 today." We didn't know what the order would be but even at the very end, we all wanted to win but we were still looking out for each other.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was the best part about running the race?
A. Nat: There are so many amazing parts about running the race. One is getting to see the world and have a snapshot of all these different cultures and traditions. You get to take part in things that you could never orchestrate on your own. On the opposite side of the coin, what you learn internally is good too. You have no communication with the world or have money. It doesn't matter who you know or how much money you have... it matters what you can do on your own when push comes to shove.
