This week’s Real Housewives of Atlanta showcased Phaedra and Apollo heading to Augusta to have their baby boy. Of course there was a lot to it, but in a nutshell, Phaedra is nervous about having the baby, and while she loves her doctor, she has concerns.

Kandi has a store in Atlanta called Tags and she is celebrating her birthday there. We get to see Lisa Wu Hartwell again, and Kim gives Kandi a really fancy wig which Kandi thinks is kind of “hookerish”. They are all abuzz about Phaedra having her baby, and when Kim talks to Dwight about it, he demands that she is only 7 months pregnant, just like she keeps saying. All of the women, who are all mothers, know that there is just no way this is true.  Kandi vows to get to the bottom of it when she visits Phaedra at the hospital. 

Meanwhile, NeNe is trying to get a job with the press in Atlanta, and at first they are really drilling her. It’s actually quite annoying, as a fan of NeNe’s, because they just don’t seem to understand how fun she would be to watch as an entertainment anchor. One of the VP”s actually drills her about her etiquette! If I were NeNe I would have been annoyed. Once they understand that she has good contacts and can probably help them out, the tide turns and they start sucking up to her…and the next thing you know, NeNe has her first job. 

When Phaedra checks in to the hospital and the nurse asks how far along she is, she shrugs and says she is not sure.  Then her mother shows up and they induce her labor. At that point, Kandi comes to visit, and once she has talked with Phaedra’s mother, she understands that getting pregnant out of wedlock is just NOT something that is done in their family, so when the doctor confirms that she is 40 weeks pregnant, no one really says anything and Phaedra’s mother seems to ignore it.

Sheree throws a party for her kid’s graduations and we get to not only see her kids, which have been completely, absent in previous seasons, but we also get to see her interact with her ex-husband Bob Whitfield. They seem rather friendly.

Sheree also throws a Spades party and invites Dr. Tiy E to attend so everyone can meet him. It seems like everyone comes to the party, including Lisa Wu Hartwell and her husband Ed, Lawrence, Kandi and her mom, Cynthia and Peter, Sheree’s daughter and her boyfriend, and of course finally NeNe and Gregg.  When NeNe comes in, she recognizes Dr. Tiy E and recalls that there was a scandal about him being a “Love Doctor” but not really having his doctorate. 

Everyone drills him, trying to convince him that he is a fake doctor which actually ISN’T the case. From all of his answers, it sounds like he has his PhD but isn’t a licensed therapist, which are two different things, and it sounds like the group doesn’t understand that…or perhaps are too drunk to actually understand what the poor Doctor is saying?
