In tonight's second hour of MasterChef, everyone heads out to the desert in the middle of nowhere to find out their next challenge. They'll be cooking for 100 hungry truck stop drivers and the dish seems simple enough... hamburgers. Oh, did I mention they'll have to grind the meat themselves?
This will be a team challenge - the blue team vs. the red team. As the winner of the last challenge, Jake chooses his entire team and goes with Tracy, Whitney, Lee, and Tony to make up his blue team. They'll be facing off against Sharone, Slim, Mike, Sheetal, and David. The red team struggles throughout the entire prep and cook period, looking like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. Jake's blue team, on the other hand, is a well oiled machine.
The first team to receive 51 votes from the truckers wins the challenge and amazingly, the red team kills it. The final score is 51-39!
Back at the kitchen, the blue team is forced to compete in a pressure test, where they must identify as many correct ingredients as possible. The person who guesses the fewest is out. In this test, there is no dish... they just have to name ingredients based on sight alone. Is that really that hard? Out of 25, Jake gets 11, Tony gets 9, and Lee, Whitney, and Tracy get 10. That means Tony leaves MasterChef tonight.
