This season on So You Think You Can Dance, which premieres tonight, the hit summer reality show is bringing back 12 dancers from previous seasons. These dancers, known as the All Stars, will be used as expert partners for this season’s top 10 finalists.

At a recent press junket, RealityWanted caught up with Executive Producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe, who wanted to let all competitors know they have a lot of requirements to fulfill in order to separate themselves from the others who auditioned this season. Each competitor needs to have great technique while being able to pick up steps and choreography quickly. They must also have a fantastic personality, stage charisma and that indescribable “x-factor.”

Adam Shankman is lucky enough to be the man in charge of going to each dancer’s home and deliver the good or bad news as to whether or not they will be part of the Top 10. Will Adam Shankman replace Simon Cowell on American Idol? Watch the video below to see Nigels' video interview with Adam.
