America's Best Dance Crew Season 5

by Danae Young

This week, America’s Best Dance Crew wrapped up the season by bringing all of the crews back to the show.

Mario Lopez announced this was the closest race in America’s Best Dance Crew history.

The crews were split up into their area of the U.S. as representing for either the West Coast, East Coast, or South.

The West Coast, lead by Omarion, was made up of Heavy Impact, Hype 5-0, and Poreotix. They started off their performance lying on the ground forming a “W,” which was pretty cool. Of course I’m a little partial toward them since I am also from the West Coast.

The East Coast, lead by Lil Mama, was a collaboration between Blueprint Cru, Static Noyze, and Saltare. Everyone had their shot at the jump rope that Saltare has mastered and they ended up doing way better than I had expected.

The South, lead by JC Chasez, included Swagger Crew, Royal Flush, and Jungle Boogie. They had a great performance that gave each crew a chance to shine.

Poreotix and Blueprint Cru performed together in a drum line-themed routine that included some stomping and hip hop.

The judges had their chance to give their final thoughts.

JC Chasez said Blueprint Cru became a team throughout the season, especially in the Lady Gaga performance. Lil Mama said they have carried out their faith, inspiration, and determination this season.

Omarion said he is really proud of Poreotix, no matter what happens. Lil Mama said they have grown on this show and thinks that they really represent youth.

Lil Mama added that she thinks both crews are very dedicated and strong and wasn’t surprised to hear how close the scores were.

Poreotix wants to keep the trophy on the West Coast, but Blueprint Cru wants to make America’s Best Dance Crew international.

Only one crew gets the $100,000 and the title of America’s Best Dance Crew and that crew is...

POREOTIX!!!

They thanked the fans because they wouldn’t be there without them.

Blueprint Cru’s banner fell as they left the stage for the last time.

Randy Jackson made his second appearance of the season to give Poreotix their awesome gold break dancing trophy. Then, Poreotix performed for the first time as America’s Best Dance Crew.

Watch America’s Best Dance Crew Champions for Charity next Thursday night at 10/9c on MTV when the winners of all five seasons will come together for a good cause.
