Maria and Tiffany know one another from playing professional poker. They are two of a small group of women who play poker professionally.  In 2007 Maria was last women standing in world series of poke main event and in 2008 Tiffany took her title. They have spent a lot of time traveling and staying in hotels together while on the poker tour. They did some prep work by watching past seasons of The Amazing Race, taking notes, and learning how to drive stick shifts.
