Susan Lucci Dancing with The Stars
By: Mary Cavaliere

The results show was delayed a day due to the Presidential Election.  Congratulations to Senator Obama!!!

This week’s repeat dance number was the team pasadoble which seemed even better tonight for some reason. Maybe it was because they were all more relaxed and not being judged.

Lionel Richie was one of the guest performers tonight who’s first song “Good Morning” didn’t do much for me.   But Edyta & Alec’s dancing more than made up for it.  I loved his second performance, however, the updated and hipper “Dancing On The Ceiling” which is obviously very appropriate for this show.  I do have one more comment.  What did Max do to his hair????

We were also entertained by the likes of Jerry Rice, Len Goodman, and Kenny Mayne who assessed each of the six finalists in a very humorous manner.

Then award-winning choreographer Dave Scott and his dance team performed.  I’m sure the young folks thought it was cool but hip-hop rarely moves me on any level no matter who’s performing it.

The couples were rated in the following order after Monday night’s individual dancing combined with the score from their team dances:

1)    Brooke & Derek
2)    Maurice & Cheryl
3)    Warren & Kym
4)    Lance & Lacey
5)    Susan & Tony
6)    Cody & Edyta

Susan Lucci was once again part of the bottom two and I think her departing was a no-brainer.  I felt bad for Cody & Edyta because I don’t think Cody deserved to be there and if he had gone home, I’m sure Julianne would have felt really bad.

I have to say I’m a little disappointed in the five remaining stars.  At this point in the competition the dancing is usually fierce, and although I really enjoy watching Maurice and Warren, I don’t think either of them really deserve the mirror ball.  I think the winner this time around is a no-brainer and my prediction is that Brooke & Derek will end up winning the competition (although I felt the same way about Mario Lopez and he didn’t win).  This is when these shows are a thorn in my side.  I don’t always believe that it is the viewers who choose who wins or who goes home.  Sometimes I think the producers have a hand in the selection to create “better TV”.
