The craziness continues for the
final four Americans (Meaghan Cooper, TX; Bilenda Madison, NC; Donnell
Pitman, IL; Justin Wood, AL) competing in Japan when the season finale
of "I Survived A Japanese Game Show" airs TUESDAY, AUGUST 5 (9:01-11:00
p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Andrew Kelly-Hayes (Boston,
MA) was eliminated on last night's episode.
Here are the games in the season finale:
MAKING NEW FRIENDS IN JAPAN
Contestants
compete as individuals on the streets of Tokyo to complete five tasks,
all involving random strangers. The person with the slowest time goes
home. Tasks include getting a business card, getting someone to draw a
moustache on the contestant and getting three people to do the "wave."
SQUISHY SQUISHY!
Contestants
wear a giant sponge suit and try to absorb as much water as possible
from a giant bowl, retain it through an obstacle course, and then
squeeze out the water into a receptacle. The player with the least
amount of water in the receptacle loses.
CROWNING A WINNER GAME: FINAL MAJIDE!
Contestants
compete head-to-head in a giant obstacle course comprising the hardest
tasks from ALL the previous shows. They are spun, then have to tricycle
across a narrow bridge over water, smash giant eggs with their butts,
crawl through a lot of flour, scale a Velcro wall, eat sticky mochi
balls and finally, swing through the correct breakaway door. The first
one to hit the finish buzzer is the winner.
"I Survived A
Japanese Game Show" is a hilarious, behind-the-scenes and
ground-breaking show giving 10 Americans - many of whom have never
traveled outside the United States - a real, life-changing adventure by
whisking them away to Tokyo to compete in the ultimate Japanese game
show. Each week a player will be eliminated and the final winner will
take home $250,000.
Guiding the players through their stay in
Japan are host/tour guide Tony Sano ("Spring Break in Japan," "Kamen
Rider: Dragon Knight"), an American actor fluent in Japanese; a house
mother where the players live and resident pot-stirrer, Mamasan; and
the witty game show host Rome Kanda ("Pink Panther," "Saturday Night
Live"), who leads the American contestants through all of the zany
games.
The executive producers are Arthur Smith and Kent Weed
(A. Smith & Co., "Kitchen Nightmares," "Hell's Kitchen"), David
Sidebotham, Karsten Bartholin and Tim Crescenti, from a concept by
Babyfoot APS Denmark.
"I Survived a Japanese Game Show" is
broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with
5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish subtitles via secondary closed
captioning. A TV parental guideline will be posted closer to airdate.
