Tonight’s entire episode was centered around Erik since he was the only FAN left on the Malakal Tribe.  He knew from the start his head would be next on the chopping block.

Ami, after trying to get Ozzy voted out last week along with Tracy, was sucking up to Ozzy this week and trying to convince him that she would never vote him out.  But she pushed too hard and Ozzy’s intuition told him she wasn’t being honest.  This is one of the many reasons that Ozzy is so good at this game.  He’s very astute when it comes to other people.

Jason killed a rat this week and was all set to barbecue it but didn’t have to because his tribe won the reward challenge which partially consisted of food (pizza and beer).  Both the reward and immunity challenges were combined into one clever event.  It started with each tribe choosing a contestant from the other tribe to go to Exile Island to sit out the challenge.  That person would also receive immunity if their tribe lost the challenge, and they could not be voted out.  The Airai Tribe chose Ozzy and the Malakal Tribe chose Alexis.

While at Exile Island Ozzy played stupid with Alexis and helped her to look for the immunity idol.  She was looking for the real deal.  He however, was looking to see if anyone had scooped up the fake immunity idol he had planted there days earlier.  He was quite happy with himself when he discovered it had, in fact, been found.

The combination reward / immunity challenge was an obstacle course on the water.  While contestants tried to get through the obstacle course members of the opposing tribe were on the sidelines trying to knock them down with sand bags.  The object of the challenge was to go back and forth on the obstacle course to collect a total of five flags.  Erik pulled out all the stops and played as hard as any team member possibly could, but it was to no avail since the Airai Tribe won in the end.

In desperation Erik blew Ami’s cover and told Cirie and Amanda what Ami had tried to do days earlier to vote some of them out including Ozzy.  Cirie didn’t trust Ami but then again she doesn’t trust Erik either so it was obvious her vote would be based on who she trusted less.  Now of course if Ozzy knew that Cirie was also plotting to get rid of him in the same way Ami had, things would have probably turned out differently tonight.  But for now Cirie’s secret is safe.  When Ozzy returned from Exile Island Erik told him the same story, but unlike the girls, Ozzy believed him.  Ozzy shared his thoughts with Amanda, but looked a bit worried that she would still side with Ami and vote Erik out instead.

At Tribal Council I felt Ami really blew it when she used the Hillary Clinton technique for votes (you know, crying and trying to get the sympathy vote).  But it didn’t work and in the end, Ami was sent home.  Hip hip hooray!

On the Airai Tribe it was interesting to watch Parvati rally with the girls behind James’ back to create a  “final four” alliance.  Her intention is she doesn’t want to be up against James or Ozzy at the end to win the million.  Parvati, honey, you have nothing to worry about because you aren’t going to get that close to the million so there’s no need to be so strategic.  Just sit back and enjoy the ride and your second chance at your five minutes of fame!
