Biggest Loser Recap From 3/11/08

The Biggest Loser looked like a Skittles rainbow last night as the 14 eliminated contestants reappeared for a chance to win a spot back on the ranch. Our six remaining participants were not exactly thrilled at the turn of events, and made it clear that they resented the intrusion.

Some of the at home players had kicked serious weight loss tail, dropping over 25% of their weight, while others pulled ho-hum numbers on the scale. In the end, Alli (pink) came back on board, beating Jackie (orange) by a narrow percentage, and Bernie (blue) fell just shy of the 90 pounds he needed to win a spot over Mark (black).

As Mark and Alli took their places with their trainers and teammates, tension ran high, and as a viewer I could see that this was going to be a roller coaster ride of a show.

Jillian finds Brittany back in her room, lamenting over how she's so upset she just can't stop eating. She feels defeated, and is working so hard, but Bernie's departure has brought her down. Here's where I can see that men have an advantage over women. Call me sexist, but I didn't see Jay curling into the fetal position and seeking solace in a bag of Doritos when his brother went home. Why is it that when things get rough, so many women (myself included at times) comfort themselves in food that is just going to make them feel rotten?

It seems to me that the black team girls have resigned themselves to the fact that they aren't men, and don't drop huge numbers so they're just going to sit around and pout. As an outsider, I can see that some of those women have the weight left to lose (like Kelly) to actually win the show. It's not impossible! Whatever you do, ladies, don't give up. You might not win, but you can sure as heck go down swinging!

The girls couldn't snap out of their funk during the bicycling challenge, and were picked off, two-at-a-time in the first rounds of play. Dan won the challenge, which came with a valuable prize of two votes during elimination.

As we die hard Biggest Loser fans have come to expect, Alison Sweeney started the elimination by talking to some of the contestants. She chatted with Alli about ow her week had gone, and how she felt being back on the ranch. Then, she asked Brittany about her feelings in regards the game, and that's when it happened.

Jillian.

Went.

Off!

The cenors had to work overtime editing out Jillian's response to the line of questions directed at Brittany. Most of what I heard was *Bleep*, but I could read those lips, and that woman was p-oh'ed in a big way. Jillian, frustrated with the game, trying so hard to keep her girls together and motivate them, just couldn't hold back. She was frustrated at the situation, and I'm sure at a loss as to how to handle Brittany's lack of confidence.

Allison Sweeney literally stood on the stage, slack jawed and clueless as to what exactly had just happened. I'm certain someone in production was going to get an earful, since she just read what was written on the cue cards and caused a riot. Quite frankly, it was hysterical from my point of view on the couch.

As the tension in the room grew thick, the contestants started to weigh in. Alli dropped an amazing 7 pounds, which put her at the top of the list. Most everyone pulled decent numbers, 4 and 5 pounds, but that wasn't a lot to someone like Dan who has a lot of weight left on his body.

Toward the end of weigh ins, there was a chance Dan might not be able to use those two votes, because his 1.90% put him on the low end of the weigh ins. It looked like Dan and Brittany were going to the elimination round together, which would have given her a great chance to stay.

But at the last minute, Maggie got up on that scale and pulled a ZERO. Nothing. Nada.

Left hanging this week, Biggest Loser fans will need to tune in to NBC early next Tuesday at 8pm (7pm central) to see who goes home.
