Duggars In Cuffs:

For their 30th wedding anniversary Jim Bob and Michelle are taking out Jill and Derek as well as Jessa and Ben for a triple date. Unbeknownst to the the kids, Jim Bob has a few tricks up his sleeve. The first surprise was a speeding ticket turned cuff-the-couples. The lesson: if you're going to be married, you have to work together. But wait, Jessa and Ben aren't engaged! Oh, they thought of that... they have two sets of handcuffs so that they don't get too close. Next up: a picnic for 6. "Sometimes it's like spreading peanut butter with your left hand" says Jim Bob about marriage as he watches his daughters make pb&j sandwiches with their significant others (the Duggars eat 500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches a year). How cute. But is that a real test? How about an obstacle course (aka a park playground)! The purpose is to communicate and start/finish together. Ben thinks it's silly but Jim Bob wants to make sure they understand not to compare their relationship to others relationships. I totally get it, Jim Bob. How about archery handcuffed together? After proving to be extremely difficult, it was doable. Just like difficulties in a marriage. Oh Jim Bob, you nailed this one on the head. It's important to encourage each other during the difficult times and trust each other.

Elder Duggar and his wife Anna have made the vow to be healthier, so Josh has decided to run a 5k. Has he even trained for this? And why isn't Anna joining him? (If the Duggars all ran 5ks they could run the entire world in a year.) "A woman in a tutu is beating me at this thing." Yeah, that's what happens when you just walk into a physical challenge, Josh. But he claims his goal was just to get back on the right track, so his 46 minute time is nothing to snark at. Side note: I'd like to see more of Anna... she's funny and less dry than the Duggars.

Duggar Derby:

Michelle makes it a point to spend quality one-on-one time with each child. Think about that... if she spend one day with each child, plus her daughter-in-law and three grandchildren, that would take up 23 days out of one month. Today she is taking Johanna to the riding stables to conquer her fear of horses, stemming from a kick from a horse during her childhood. Way to go, Mama!

Bible time: everyone comes together at the end of the day to give a report on what's been going on, current events and to focus on God. Today's focus is to make ramps for the derby cars the Duggar kids have been working on for a few episodes. These ramps are no joke and they've decorated the parking lot (of their church maybe?) as a race course... as in tents, racing flag bunting, cones, the works. It would be a blast to be a part of a family this large if this was what you did all the time. But can you imagine how many cousins the Duggar kids' children will have to remember? If they had an average of 5 kids each they'd need their own school building to homeschool them all together.

While the ramps are being built Jessa and Ben are headed to a play area with a few of the younger Duggars. "Parenting" in Ben's eyes? Wash your hands so your hands don't slip off the steering wheel making you lose the game. Seriously. I don't know if marriage so young is good for everyone. This couple has a lot of maturing to do.
