The minute Aaron and Jasmine stepped on stage together this season for So You Think You Can Dance, they became fan favorites. The two sailed through much of the season, enjoying rave reviews from the judges and the much needed votes from fans to stay in the competition. They made it to the finale, where they ended as runners-up to Amy and Fik-Shun but they loved every minute of their time on the show. We caught up with them during the So You Think You Can Dance Live tour to find out about the shows, life on the road, and what's next for these talented performers.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did it end up surprising you how well you did in the competition?
A. Jasmine: Yes, I know for me it did. In the whole process, you just think about getting to the next week. At the end, it was crazy to see how far we came.
A. Aaron: Absolutely, especially in my case. It was a blessing that we were capable of getting so far in the competition. I think it had a lot to do with our partnership as well.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Which routine, on the show, was the toughest for you?
A. Jasmine: The quickstep, Aaron?
A. Aaron: Yeah.
A. Jasmine: We had to do a lot of extra practicing. We had no formal training in ballroom. It was a challenge for us. We just decided that we would go out there and perform.
A. Aaron: It was overwhelming for sure!

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You seem like such a tight knit cast, so it must be nice to be out on the road and touring together.
A. Aaron: It's been amazing! You're 100% spot on, we're really close. We've been lucky to continue to hang out and get to know them.
A. Jasmine: Like Aaron was saying, it's a good thing that we have this tour now.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What has it been like to meet fans from around the country that supported you during your time on the show?
A. Jasmine: It's amazing! On the show, we don't realize how much we're impacting people. We don't realize there's so many people who are inspired by us and have been supporting us all this time, or see the people who have been voting for us.
A. Aaron: I think that's the most rewarding part. It's very overwhelming!

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Jasmine, they let the girls be in the sand routine for the tour and that was my favorite from the whole season. How pumped were you to get to be in it?
A. Jasmine: That has actually been my favorite too and I was really excited that we got to do that with the guys. I don't know how it looks, I just know the sand is messy!

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Have either of you given any thought to what you want to do when the tour wraps up?
A. Jasmine: Well, I haven't had a chance to really think about anything. The day after the finale, we started working on things with the tour. I'm open to any opportunities that come my way. I'm just thinking about finishing the tour because we're not even halfway done. I obviously want to continue dancing.
A. Aaron: The tour really makes you focus really hard on one thing. I know that because of the show, I'm closer to every opportunity. The show taught me a lot about work ethic and reaching my goals. I just want to continue to work hard and push myself and become a better artist.
