Desiree and Chris on The Bachelorette After The Final Rose

by Gina Scarpa

Not only is it the first time that Desiree and Chris will be seen together in public as a couple, but it's also the first time she'll come face to face with Brooks and Drew since her relationships with them ended. On the always awkward but entertaining After The Final Rose special, Desiree first sits alone with Chris Harrison and sums up what she went through in the final two episodes. She says that sometimes you have to go through the difficult times to see the good, as well as the beauty in love. I'm sure there's part of Chris that just wishes they could've cut straight to the beauty part.

Brooks is the first to join Desiree on stage, and admits that a lot of feelings have resurfaced (but ones that involved being in love, committing, or settling down). That being said, he did want things to work out, prompting Des to ask what changed after hometowns. There really isn't much to say, other than that when he was away from he, he checked his feelings and realized they weren't as strong as they would be.

Let's hand out the Most Awkward Moment award, which goes to Chris Harrison asking Des to tell Brooks what happened in the finale and that is now engaged.

Drew faces Desiree next and as usual, he's all class, saying he's happy for her and Chris. He asks if he could've done anything differently, and if he was behind Chris and Brooks. Though the answer to the second question is a resounding yes, she gives him the old "NO... noooo." Drew swears he's over Des, but promises to always be in her corner. Like Chris Harrison said, this guy isn't going to have any trouble finding love when he gets back to Arizona.

When Chris and Desiree are finally reunited on stage, he says that he is sure she's the one. Chris Harrison replays their proposal for them and they have tears of joy in their eyes as they watch it. For those who were worried the final episodes would hurt their relationship, they squash any doubts by announcing they're moving in together in Seattle next week. It's probably best they get away from L.A. and just work on their relationship.

The last few minutes of the live special end up being the best part because Chris Harrison announces that the next Bachelor is... JUAN PABLO! I think the casting site just crashed.
