Considered a front runner to win America's Next Top Model: College Edition, Leila Goldkuhl was surprisingly eliminated earlier than many expected. Reality Wanted spoke to her exclusively to find out what she thought about her housemates, what's in her modeling future, and just what went on in the Tyra Suite.

Q. Kylene, Reality Wanted: What was life like before Top Model - were you already pursuing a modeling career?

A. Leila: Um, yeah actually probably less than a year before the show, I started modeling on my own. I wasn't with an agency or anything, I just started finding jobs and building a portfolio on my own while being in school as a kind of fun way to make money and a hobby, but I definitely wanted to make a career out of it. I just didn't have many opportunities.

Q. Kylene, Reality Wanted: You were a favorite starting in the first week but it seemed like, even then, there was some unfair cattiness towards you. It may be just a coincidence, but Kristin successfully targeted both you and Destiny over the last two shows, and you've both been eliminated. Were you surprised by some of the attitudes in the house and by the public reaction?

A. Leila: Yeah, I actually am surprised about some of the stuff that I didn't see first hand, some of it I'm just seeing now on the show. It did surprise me and it's difficult to see some of it. I tried my best to just be friendly and make friends. Yeah, I didn't expect it to be like that. I guess I just trust people too easily.

Q. Kylene, Reality Wanted: What was your stay in the Tyra Suite like?

A. Leila: We got to wear the clothes from the closet, and I picked Laura so she got to do that as well. We got to wear shoes and clothes and makeup, and she dragged her bed in so she could sleep in there too. I slept in the big Tyra Suite bed, which was so comfortable. The best part was probably the big bathroom, it had a big hot tub in there too. But yeah, it was just a fun place to get ready and also a place to sleep because there was a door that you could shut so that you didn't have to hear the noise from the rest of the house, so it was just...relaxing.

Q. Kylene, Reality Wanted: The judges have some advice for you guys, like Tyra trying to get you to move your arms more for your walk. What did the show teach you about modeling - both in general and specifically how you approach it? Have you practiced a new walk?

A. Leila: I did practice a walk before I got on the show, but I also didn't expect her to be, like, really coaching. So, with my walk, I was comfortable and up until that week , it seemed to be fine and then all of a sudden that week everyone was in my head about it. It just through me off, and I was trying to make it better and change it and I was just uncomfortable, and you could tell that I was uncomfortable and uncertain about it. The only thing I can do is practice and get better at it, which is as easy as learning to walk in heels, so I'm not too worried about that.

Q. Kylene, Reality Wanted: Have you returned to school? And what are you studying?

A. Leila: Yep, I'm actually at school right now, I had class today. Studying textiles, fashion merchandising.

Q. Kylene, Reality Wanted: What's life like on campus? Have things changed since last year?

A. Leila: It's actually not all that different. There are people who recognize me, and some people who don't watch the show, and they'll ask, you know "do you model?" and I'm like "Oh, I'm on Top Model" so then they start watching it too. Word gets around a little bit, but for the most part, I tend to just float under the radar, focus on my studies and definitely modeling. You know, I can't be here always on the weekend because I'm trying to pursue a career in modeling, and visiting my boyfriend who goes to school in Boston, so life isn't too crazy on campus.

Q. Kylene, Reality Wanted: What's next for you professionally - are you finishing your degree or focusing on modeling?

A. Leila: Yeah, my biggest challenge is to get everything to work together. I definitely want to get my degree and I want to have an education, and I think my education will help a little with modeling because it does kind of relate to the fashion industry. I'm hoping so badly that I can continue to go straight thorugh my education and not have to take a break or go back to it, but I also do really want to make a career in modeling and I want to do that, so there may be some sacrifices I have to make, but right now I'm just playing it by ear. Hopefully I'll be able to do school and modeling and not have to take any kind of break.

Q. Kylene, Reality Wanted: You were considered one of the "high fashion" models in the house, where some of the other girls didn't have that type of look. Are you interested in pursuing the high fashion world, or would you consider other paths - print modeling or acting for example.

A. Leila: Definitely interested in all kinds of modeling, but definitely not acting. Acting is something that I've never really tried for, something that I'll probably never be good at, but I am high fashion, and I enjoy the whole high fashion aspect, so I do want to continue to do that. But at the same time, back home I've had opportunities for jobs for catalogs online and just small commercials, which, I can do commercials too, it's just not my favorite. But I can do all kinds of modeling - high fashion is what I'm aiming for though.
