The contestants on season 13 of The Biggest Loser had already gained a reputation for putting drama before the well-being of those around them. Kim and Conda had yelling matches with Daphne and Adrian, Daphne won a reward challenge just to get revenge on Conda and her brother Jeremy, Chris locked herself in a bathroom threatening to quit, and Joe really did quit!
This week, stories broke out across the internet that the show was considering bringing back former contestants, who would be eligible for the grand prize, and the current contestants walked off the set. Production was halted for several days but it's now being said that the show is up and running again. However, the two ringleaders of the mutiny have apparently been released from the show but their names have not been released. Sources are saying that the uprising will air as part of this season.
Meanwhile, former contestants are reacting on Twitter and Facebook to all of the drama that this season's contestants have stirred up. Season 9 contestant Ashley Johnston had no sympathy, tweeting: "Biggest losers walk off the set!! #bl13...you have got to be kidding me!" and then followed it up with, "SUCK IT UP!" Bill Germanakos, who won season 4, wrote on his Twitter page, "How do I like BL 13? These kids will all grow up one day, and when they do, they can watch the show and see what we see. OYE." He went on to say, "Ummmm.. If they spent more time in the gym, they might hold a candle to former Losers. Instead they choose drama."
Some contestants are just glad they weren't part of season 13. Season 11's Jay Jacobs echoed those sentiments and posted on his Twitter account, "So thankful I was on our season #mostlyalovefest". Amanda Arlauskas, of season 8, seems like she couldn't agree more, tweeting "Holy drama.. Glad I was on #BL8!"
Shay Sorrells, also of season 8, took a more diplomatic approach when voicing her opinion on Facebook. "Alright- so if you haven't noticed I have been trying to stay out of all the BL drama this season," she wrote. "I just have to say this: two wrongs don't make a right and usually those with all the bark need the most hugs! I know you all are all about showing the love and learned if you have nothing nice to say... keep thinking 'til you find something!"
