Last night on RHONYC, Cindy and Sonja met up at Vivienne Tam, to try on dresses and then go to lunch, but Cindy had other plans up her sleeve. She'd broken her teeth on some pistachio nuts (Who does that??), and wanted to go to the dentist immediately after dress shopping, but she didn't have the heart to tell Sonja yet. Dress magic ensued, and as the women stood there in gorgeous frocks, Sonja dropped the bomb that she'd be inviting Kelly and Ramona over for the same toaster oven cooking party, in an effort to get them to become closer. I don't know what's more disturbing, the fact that she could be that underhanded, or the fact that she cooks in a toaster oven. I'm on the fence.

Meanwhile, Cindy said that she thought it wasn't a good idea, and then invited Sonja to a party she was having at a horse barn out in Quogue. Sonja turned up her nose and said she wouldn't go to Quogue, and then Cindy told Sonja that lunch was off, because she had to go to the dentist. Sonja was a little peeved about that, but the women separated.

LuAnn, at her house in the Hamptons, was talking with her daughter Victoria about staying in the Hamptons and about the wonderful lives they all have there. LuAnn spends most of her time in the Hamptons and only goes to the city a couple of days a week, and that works for her. Jacques showed up for breakfast and played with the dog, which was delightful. LuAnn's life is so perfect, and she has everything she could ever wish for, and la-dee-dah. How boring.

Kelly was out in the Hamptons too, with Sonja, at the Wolfer Estates stables, where the women were going to ride horses. Everything was going fine until Sonja decided she was going to run wild and try to do the things that professional rider Kelly was doing. She fell off the horse, Kelly freaked out (because when doesn't she?), and Sonja got right back up. All in all, it wasn't the big deal that the preview of this episode made it out to be.

After the riding, Sonja and Kelly sat down, and Sonja invited her to the toaster oven shindig, without telling her that Ramona would be there. Oh, Sonja, you little minx. They were also preparing for the cocktail party that LuAnn was having that evening.
And here we are! Cindy, Sonja, Kelly, Alex, and Ramona all showed up. LuAnn remarked that they were missing Jill because she was still in Australia. Is anybody else missing Jill? I'm not. Anyway, the highlights of the party were Sonja insulting Cindy's Quogue party, which turned out to be for her birthday, and then griping because she never got an invite to it. Cindy pulled Kelly aside and told her everything about Sonja's plan to get her together with Ramona, and Kelly was very uncomfortable about that (because, again...when isn't she?). Also, Ramona insulted LuAnn by stating that she was a weekend mom.

The next day, it was the ARF (Animal Rescue Fund) Walk, and the women gathered to walk their dogs. Ramona asked LuAnn's advice on how to handle Cindy's brother Howie at her birthday party, and LuAnn suggested that she speak to him and get it all out in the open. Ramona was visibly upset, but I don't believe it was because ARF had not provided pinot grigio, not because of Howie. Meanwhile, Kelly told Sonja that Cindy told her everything, and she would not be attending the toaster oven festival. Sonja was upset that Cindy had blabbed, and there may be a confrontation next week!

The day of Cindy's party, everyone was having a reasonably good time. Ramona tried to talk to Kelly, but Kelly wasn't having any of it, and there was an awkward scene at a table where Ramona told Kelly that she invites her to everything, and why was she acting this way? You could have cut the tension, for sure. Ramona decided to cause more trouble when she approached Howie to sort things out, and he wanted no part of speaking to her on his sister's birthday.

Ramona was insistent, shaking, crying...you know, being Ramona, when Cindy stepped in and said that she would not have this at her party, and shut her down. I'm starting to like Cindy more and more.

Jill's back next week! I'll try to contain my disdain for the situation.
