Hell's Kitchen Season 7

by Gina Scarpa

Tonight, on Hell's Kitchen, the final four contestants meet up with Chef Ramsay so that he can demonstrate how to prepare a monkfish. Once he finishes his perfect dish, he asks the chefs if they think that can recreate it and of course, they say yes. However, not only will they have to recreate it, they'll have to teach it to a young bachelor who knows nothing about cooking. One of them happens to be Christopher from Fox Reality's Seducing Cindy, who spends his time flirting with Holli.

Clearly, Autumn's guy either wasn't listening or wasn't taught well. Not only can he not answer a question about his dish, there's not even any monkfish on the plate! I think it's safe to say they lost. Chef Ramsay loves the presentation that Jay's bachelor did and explains his dish very well. Ben's guy doesn't do too well and then throws Ben under the bus, saying that he really didn't teach him much. Holli's bachelor, Christopher, makes a critical mistake when he tells Chef Ramsay how to eat but fortunately for him, the food tastes great.

Jay and his bachelor, Rick, are the winners. Chef Ramsay calls the dish "almost perfect". Doesn't get much better than that. All of the bachelors receive a copy of Ramsay's book and Jay takes Holli for his reward for a ride on the Goodyear blimp. How romantic! For their punishment, Ben and Autumn fix up the restaurant - with each other. I'm not sure if the punishment is the work or being forced to spend time with one another.

Right before dinner service, Chef Ramsay decides to let the chefs control their destiny and choose their stations. They have always been assigned in the past so this is their make or break moment. Holli takes fish, Autumn chooses garnish, Jay works appetizers, and Ben is on the roast. The girls struggle, serving undercooked food, while Jay has no trouble getting food out to the pass. Autumn's food is repeatedly cold and Ramsay quickly runs out of patience with her, understandably.  Ben doesn't escape Ramsay's wrath - he catches hell for being too quiet and having poor communication.

Despite the yelling, dinner service is actually a successful one - but nobody is safe.  Two chefs have to be nominated for elimination and the decision is tough, especially with personal relationships (cough cough, Jay and Holli, cough cough) getting in the way.  Of course, Autumn is nominated along with Ben.  Ben makes his case to stay, saying that he'll step it up and prove to Ramsay why he should be the last chef standing.  Autumn gets emotional, saying she's absolutely capable of winning.

Autumn is told to get back in line, as is Ben.  Chef Ramsay has had a moment of heart and tells them that no one deserves to go home.  Not only that, he brings in their loved ones to surprise them!  Who knew the guy could be so nice?
