Tonight on Hell's Kitchen, the black jackets have been handed out and the final six have been named. Only Ed, Jason, Jay, Ben, Holli, and Autumn remain. Chef Ramsay meets them in the kitchen to announce their first individual challenge and the focus is presentation. Their dish will have to not only taste great, but look great. Their dishes will be photographed so appearance is going to be everything.

 

That Chef Ramsay is always full of surprises! After the dishes are photographed, Gordy brings in a group of culinary students to rank the pictures from best to worst. While the kiddies stand there in all their glorious judgment, the six chefs head back to the kitchen to recreate those dishes. Only the top two will actually present their dishes for editor-in-chief of Epicurious.com, Tanya Steele, to taste. Holli and Jay land in the bottom, while Ed and Ben battle it out for the win. Tanya chooses Ben's dish which, for his prize, will be featured on Epicurious. He's also getting a spa treatment, which is good since he could use a little spiffing up.

 

I should also mention that Ben's dish is on the dinner menu tonight in Hell's Kitchen - and it's seriously a complicated dish! He may have been a star in the challenge but he's falling apart during dinner service. He's falling behind, he's not answering Chef Ramsay, and he refuses to ask for help when he needs it. The next thing you know, he falls on the floor with food in hand. He needs to get it together!

 

At least Ben's not alone because Ed gets screamed at, too. After a severe lack of communication and dishes not up to par, Chef Ramsay kicks them both out of the kitchen. Once they left, Jay admitted that things felt less chaotic and the four chefs were able to get more done. The harmony in the kitchen happened just in time, as VIP guest Whoopi Goldberg showed up with friends for dinner.

 

Dinner service may have been complete but Chef Ramsay still isn't happy. They're asked to nominate two chefs for elimination and amazingly, they choose Autumn and Ed, sparing Ben. After tonight's horrible performance? Why!?  Though Autumn has been nominated five times, it's clear that she's been targeted several times without merit.  That leaves Ramsay with only one choice: Ed is out.
