The Real Housewives of New York City Season 3

by Chandra Clewley

This week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City starts with Bethenny reading an article in The Daily News about her feud with Jill Zarin. It mentions things such as the Ungaro show, and Saks Fifth Ave where she was absent. Bethenny seems to think Jill planted the article. Perez Hilton reaches out to her too, and Bethenny gets really upset.

Meanwhile, Kelly goes on an interview for Playboy, and she is super attracted to the journalist. She seems really nervous about the entire thing. Later, she tells Jill about it and Jill thinks she should go for it.  After reflecting back, Kelly decides to not mix business with pleasure.

LuAnn is impressed by her daughter Victoria’s sketches and wants to try to find her an internship with a fashion house. LuAnn herself is not dating yet, as we find out. She is starting to think she wants to start dating, though.

Ally has a fashion shoot at Seventeen Magazine and Jill asks Kelly to stop by since Kelly is a high profile model. Jill is super excited and embarrasses Ally during the shoot, but it seems to help relax her daughter.

Alex has been selected to help put together Brooklyn Fashion Weekend. Alex is helping to pick out the final designer of the weekend. Alex has invited Kelly, Ramona and Bethenny to help pick the last designer. She doesn’t invite Jill because she is still a bit upset about the comments Jill made about the kids, and she also thinks Bethenny will do a better job. Bethenny asks the girls how the Saks event was and everyone says it was fun. The Ramona/Kelly breast altercation comes up and Ramona is still unwilling to apologize or admit that it was mean. Bethenny apologizes for the girls getting dragged into the Daily News piece. Ramona feels like she is put in the middle between Jill and Bethenny. Kelly feels defensive of Jill and the old feelings of disagreement come up between Bethenny and Kelly. There is so much drama that we are not seeing in these episodes, that either happened when there was no taping or was edited out. Kelly is talking about how Bethenny went to the press and said mean things about her. Bethenny doesn’t deny this. Simon shows up and Ramona is so excited to see him, just to change the dynamic. At the end of the meeting, Bethenny and Kelly agree to just move past it.

Later, Kelly gets an email from Jill that basically says that she has heard that Kelly and Bethenny have decided on a truce and that she hopes it will work out. Essentially, Jill is saying that Kelly needs to pick sides, when Kelly feels like it isn’t her fight with Bethenny anymore. It’s between them. Kelly is really disappointed and upset.

Ramona seems to be doing really well with her renewal process. She meets up with a girlfriend Joni and talks about the loss of her father and how that really inspired her to change, and refresh herself.

Bethenny decides to call Jill after she finally figures out that this little argument has spiraled and snowballed out of complete control. LuAnn has stopped by Jill’s apartment. She is staying there while she finds a little apartment for herself, when she comes into the city. When Jill takes the call, she puts Bethenny on speakerphone but never discloses that LuAnn is in the room listening. Jill thinks they were done at the Jil Sander show and doesn’t know why she is calling. Bethenny says that the argument is completely disproportionate and that the press is involved now, LuAnn heard the voicemail and now the fight is enormous and Bethenny wants to know why it is so enormous. Jill says she doesn’t think it is important that it is enormous. Jill thinks there is too much history and she wishes Bethenny the best but tells her that she wasn’t there when Bobby was sick. Bethenny says that the entire summer of Bobby’s sickness Jill was blogging about all the places she was traveling too, and how fabulous her life was at the time, so she assumed Bobby wasn’t that sick. Jill brings up the “you need to get a hobby” quote and says that Bethenny could have at least picked up the phone and called Bobby after they were so good to Bethenny (i.e. let her stay in the Hamptons, fed her, traveled with her, etc.). At the time, Bethenny says, she was writing a 2nd and 3rd book and Jill told her that she didn’t give the Zarin’s enough credit for their help. Jill hangs up on Bethenny.

Even LuAnn seems shocked by the conversation. It was really intense but why is Jill not willing to budge at all?  Bethenny knew there were issues but she did not realize it was as epic as it is turning out. Jill is really pissed and says she never wants to be in the same room with her. Really? I am with Bethenny here, their friendship was tight, why is Jill so absolutely unwilling to even hear her out and understand that we all make mistakes? Bethenny was in the middle of 2 books and a brand new relationship. It feels to me, like Jill should have been a little bit more forgiving...
