James Clement from Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains

There must be some kind of black cloud following James Clement in the game of Survivor. On Survivor: China, he was voted out of the game with not one, but two, immunity idols. On Survivor: Micronesia, an injury in his finger forced the medical staff to require that he leave the game. This season, on Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains, another injury ended up being his demise as his tribe determined this week that his knee would not heal quickly enough to help them in challenges. James spoke about the curse of Survivor, his differences with Tom and Colby, and what tv show he wants to do next in an exclusive interview with RealityWanted.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you come back and play Survivor a third time? You have to be a little crazy, right?
A. James: I was a little broke is what it was. I needed the money. It's Survivor. You get to live in the jungle and have a chance at a million dollars.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When you got hurt this season, didn't you start to feel like maybe you were cursed on Survivor?
A. James: No, really, it's a curse. I was like, "This don't make no sense!" I've never been hurt in my entire life. My great grandmother could fix that. She could lift the curse.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Were you planning on working with Amanda all way to the end?
A. James: I'd never work with Amanda all the way to the end. I can't put all my eggs in one basket. I mean, you never know what you're gonna do out there but that was not my plan.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Amanda felt like you protected her in the game. What did she do for you? What benefit does serve by aligning with her?
A. James: Amanda calmed me down. I come off as aggressive and I guess I need to work on my social game. Amanda was my social guru.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You and Tom butted heads all the way until the day he went home. What was it about him that bothered you so much?
A. James: Tom was not trying to work as a team. He had a plan and he wanted to be a hero and he carried that on himself. He thought he had to win every challenge. He didn't want a co-pilot. He didn't want to sit in the backseat. He wanted to drive. It's like he was playing Nintendo. There was only one person playing or the game went off. He's a fireman. I mean, I know he don't run the hose and drive the truck and put out the fire all by himself!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: There was a lot of speculation that had you all made it to the merge, Pavati would've teamed up with you and Amanda. Was that your plan?
A. James: Once again, you never can tell with these girls. If I would've been there, yeah, maybe. The physical threat never wins, though. The social game always wins.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Were you hoping that that race against JT on the beach would've saved you in the game?
A. James: Honestly, if I would've had a better performance, I would've stayed. I don't know. It made me say though, "Honestly, I lost the race. Maybe something is wrong."

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Your description of Colby was pretty harsh. Were you saying it to be mean or were you hoping that it would give him the push he needed to get back to his old, competitive self?
A. James: That's the thing. I wasn't trying to be cruel. I wanted him to win. I was saying, "You're not being a team player." His passive aggressive attitude was aggravating me. I was saying, "Stop boo-hooing, get it together, and stop crying. Stephenie wasn't helping this tribe. Get over it."

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Based on where we are in the game right now, who's playing the best on your tribe?
A. James: JT. He's stuck in the middle and he's hustling with everybody. You don't know what he's going to do but he's just doing that JT thing.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What's next for you?
A. James: I don't know. I wanna be on The Young and the Restless. That would be funny. I love that show! It's be nice, whatever. I just wanna have more fun. I'll just be in the background.
