Ren from America's Next Top Model Cycle 14

This week, on America's Next Top Model, the models competed in a photo shoot that was inspired by dance. Jay Manuel said that he was quickly becoming less inspired by Ren, who did not bring a lot of energy to the set and constantly complained that she didn't want to be there. In panel, Tyra called Ren out for wanting to leave and she tried to blame it on the drama but between her attitude and her photo, it was too little, too late. Ren was eliminated from the competition and today, spoke to RealityWanted in an exclusive interview about her experiences on the show.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When did you first know that you wanted to model? Is that a dream you've had since you were a little girl or something that you developed a passion for as you got older?
A. Ren: Probably as I got older. When I was a little girl, I was more like a little boy. I was playing softball and basketball and hanging out. A couple years ago, or a little bit more, in Dallas, they have this model search and I got signed through that. That's when I started modeling and that was just in Dallas, doing random things out there. From there, I wanted to go either overseas or to New York.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you want to try out for Top Model? Were you a fan of the show?
A. Ren: No, I haven't really been watching it at all but my friend knew someone who knew a casting director and they were looking for people. I sent in my pictures and literally, a week later, I was in the house so that was pretty dope.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You have a few tattoos. Does that hurt you in the modeling world?
A. Ren: It's always feasible to cover them up. It just takes forever. You can get them digitally touched up but it does hinder you. I just went to a casting for a spring/summer collection and didn't get it because they didn't want to have to cover my tattoos.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: The judges loved your first photo this cycle. Did you have experience taking photos prior to coming on the show?
A. Ren: Yeah, I have a lot more experience doing photos than runway. More than anything, I just get lucky with some pictures. To be honest, I'm still not too sure what I'm doing.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How did you feel when you watched this week's episode and heard Jay say that he was becoming less and less inspired by you?
A. Ren: Damn, I was surprised by that! It's cool, though. I probably could've given more. There's always room for improvement.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What did you learn by being on America's Next Top Model?
A. Ren: I definitely learned I could never live with girls. It was weird but it's still hard to believe that it actually happened. It feels like a dream. It was actually kind of fun, looking back on it. It's more funny now than it was then.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Do you want to continue modeling?
A. Ren: Oh yeah! I'm so down for that. I actually really do like modeling and I like everything that goes into it, even down to styling, editing, and photography.
