Tonight’s The Real Housewives of Orange County begins with Vicki, back from San Francisco. She thought she was stronger but she doesn’t want the highs and lows anymore. She had Jeana (Keough) over to discuss and Jeana feels sorry for her, when she hears how confrontational Alexis is, but also thinks that perhaps Vicki deserves it a little bit because “sometimes you get what you give.” Jeana means this in regards to how hard Vicki was on her.

 

Alexis’s Midwestern mom is in town to get plastic surgery. Alexis takes her to Dr. Niccole for a consultation and he has LOTS of suggestions! Alexis and her mom go to lunch where Alexis admits to having Botox, veneers, her boobs and Restylane in her lips done. Her mom is 58 and looks pretty dang good, but Alexis keeps mulling over the fact that she is “plain and simple.” Perhaps she just doesn’t measure up to Alexis’s standards of what her mother should look like?? She calls her plain, and washed up. After the surgery, Alexis’s mom looks typically beat up and Alexis takes her to the recovery center.

 

Lynne is still staying at her mom’s house with the girls. Tamra visits to talk to Lynne about her marriage. Lynne admits that the girls are angry and Lynne says she is “not okay with Frank.” Lynne says that she is always able to forgive and forget but “I don’t know if I want to.” Tamra can relate.  Later, Alexa and Raquel sit down and discuss their parents possibly divorcing. They seem okay with the prospect. Even later, Lynne and Frank have dinner. Frank asks for forgiveness and after a bit of apologizing, Lynne is willing to forgive him. I am still confused though…I remember reading that they were also evicted in 2003 so I just don’t understand how this was a surprise??

 

Tamra’s 42nd birthday party is a luncheon that her friend Ricky puts together, even Tammy Knickerbocker (yeah! Love her!!) comes by. Alexis can’t make it, as her mother is getting surgery, but Tamra seems happy and says it’s her “ho’s and moe’s getting day drunk!” No one knows if Vicki is coming but when David, Vicki’s assistant walks in with a gift, Tamra’s feelings are hurt. Tamra says “she sent her people with a gift!” while Vicki comes back with:

 

“Who has a birthday party on Tuesday at 11 a.m.? I’m working!!! I’m always working! In the middle of the day, I’m working!!”

 

Gretchen and her partner/makeup artist Ronn Ann are putting together their booth for the Women’s Expo. Vicki doesn’t think this product is going to work, in a market where women are losing their jobs and can’t even pay their bills. At the Expo, it seems like a ghost town, while Gretchen has forked over a lot of money for her booth, which looks amazing…I think this might be editing and showing the booth before the show is opened, because this event sells out on the first day in Los Angeles and is ALWAYS packed…

 

Briana, Vicki’s daughter, gets her results from the biopsy, and after the three of them find out that she is cancer-free, Donn pours a shot of tequila for himself, Vicki and Briana. 

 

For her actual birthday, Simon takes Tamra out for dinner. Talk about uncomfortable! They have been financially struggling and there is no Rolex (like 2007) or tennis bracelet (like 2008) this year. They sit in silence and whenever they talk it is to bicker and argue. Finally, Tamra asks the waiter to bring Simon a “shot of happiness” According to Tamra, all of the things that Simon loved about her he has now come to hate. Things like the fact that he is introverted and he loves that Tamra is extraverted, but you get the horns with the bull and he wants it under “certain parameters”  He even says that he sees her as the Lucille Ball to his Desi Arnaz (look how great their marriage turned out…).

 

Simon also says “Can you imagine what she would be like if I didn’t?” regarding controlling Tamra. Tamra shares with Simon that she went on a walk with Vicki, and Simon equates Vicki to Hitler, who was nice to Eva Braun. He has considered apologizing to Vicki but that would make her right (wow, sounds like Ryan Veith, Tamra’s son, DID learn something from Simon). Later, they go on a gondola ride and when Simon kisses her under a bridge, Tamra complains “you never tongue me anymore.” Simon laughs and says “After 13 years, anyone else would be gone….my friend say ‘Simon you have more patience than anyone else we know’”. Oh, Tamra….is it time to ditch this control freak, joy killer?  And I always kind of liked Simon!! Maybe this is what happens when all the things you loved about someone become nails on a chalkboard to you?
