The Real World: DC

by Matt Anaya

This week on The Real World: DC, we learned a few things about some of the roommates.

Callie recently found a posting for an internship at The Blade, a Gay and Lesbian periodical, which is now called the DC Agenda. She would be able to use her photography skills and take pictures of whatever the bosses wanted. The problem is that Callie's resume lacks anything resembling relevant experience, as she has only been a waitress in her life, leading Callie to start stressing.

While Callie stresses, Ashley and Drew start playfully fighting after he tried his luck with the ladies again (and partially succeeded). As usual though, he couldn't seal the deal. Drew is the man (sometimes), he's got moves on the dance floor and with the ladies, but he opens his mouth and says silly things, which leads to the girls either not going home with him, not taking their clothes off, or just simply making out with him.... which is not bad but my man Drew wants more.

Drew gets as much action as anyone I have seen on The Real World in the last ten years, but the poor kid just cannot close the deal. He is hilarious with his public make out sessions and his PDA.

But, what starts as a playful fight between Drew and Ashley actually started to get slightly physical. I am not exactly sure why but the two started throwing pizza at each other and Drew pulled the, "OK, I will stop" and then threw more pizza in Ashley's bed.

Ashley did not appreciate it and slapped Drew on the arm leading him to get a little more physical and then he pushed her. Not hard... but he did push her. Drew then started getting a little too crazy for Ashley's liking. He threw the pizza everywhere, causing Ashley hide behind Ty, which started a firestorm of accusations. The guys did not really think much of it but the girls know Ashley is slightly crazy and for good reason.

Ashley is super sensitive when it comes to hyper-aggressive men because sadly, her stepdad was abusive towards her and her mother. It was a sensitive subject around the house because most of the cast mates felt Ashley was overreacting but she was only acting the only way she knew.

Ashley was so scared by Drew she felt like she needed to leave the situation and slept over in a hotel. Again, most of the roommates thought she was being silly, but Ashley only did what she thought was right.

Drew would later apologize to Ashley and he was sincere but then he tried to cuddle with her, and she became lucky number 10 on the denials. Poor Drew, he reminds me of me. *cough er excuse me, someone I know *cough.

Callie had a great interview with the paper and passed her first test, which was to take some photos at an event.  Mike went with Callie to the event and met a cute guy (according to him) named Eric. The two hit it off but, later in the episode, Mike received an email from his ex BF telling him how much he misses Mike and how much he loves him. Mike does not know what to do but I am sure we will find out soon enough.

It seems Drew is starting to take over as the main character, which is fine with me because the rest are not as crazy, cool, fun or interesting. Basically, he goes out by himself, makes out with random girls, tries to take them home, and fails. So cool, I wish I was in college again.
