The Real World: DC

by Matt Anaya

This week’s episode of The Real World: DC was about Ty and Emily’s blossoming relationship/friendship (or whatever you want to call it) and Callie feeling uncomfortable with her body.

Ty and Emily have this weird vibe thing going on. Sometimes, it is a physical attraction.  Other times, it is flirting.  Most of the time, it is just awkward. The two slept with each other during the first few nights and now, Ty is starting to have feelings for Emily but she is there to have fun and not be tied down in a relationship.

No offense ladies, but Ty is acting like the girl in this relationship; leaving himself vulnerable as he pours his heart out to Emily, when she is not interested in dating anyone and it’s starting to frustrate Ty.

Ty is a total Mr. Softy behind the big muscles and Emily is a tomboy who rarely shows her emotions. It is a strange relationship/friendship, and I think it will end sooner than later.

The gang hit the DC clubs one night and Emily did what she intended to do the entire time she was in DC, and that is meet new people; AKA get drunk and dance until she ends up in someone’s arms on the dance floor.

Emily meets another black dude, who Ty immediately becomes jealous of, and lets Emily know about his feelings for her. Obviously, Emily tells Ty she is only interested in him when she does not have someone else to flirt with, which hurts Ty’s feelings. Everyone: Aww…

After the night comes to an end, inside the house, the two playfully wrestle each other, which drunk people tend to do way too much, but the fight escalates after Emily spits in Ty’s face.

Definitely an LOL moment as Ty got all dead serious because a woman punked him on national TV.  Muscles threw a temper tantrum which I rate a 1.0 on the Real World tantrum scale.

I mean, c’mon Ty, you gotta go harder than that! This is the Real World, right? Right?!

Callie’s story is starting to come out as she runs an inordinate amount of miles per day because she wants to stay fit. Apparently, her mother is a personal trainer and she was very hard on Callie as an adolescent about her weight, leaving an indelible mark on her.

Callie is the best-looking girl on the cast this season, and needless to say, the girl got curves. As a 27-year-old single dude, I appreciate Callie’s body and beauty and if I saw her out, I would definitely talk to her, no doubt about it.

And she would definitely talk back.  ;)

As the episode went on, it is clear that Ty is the village idiot. Yes, Andrew is the class clown, but Ty is a total jerk to the girls and does not know when to keep his mouth shut and it is hard for him to control the words that come out of his mouth.  Proving his stupidity, Ty told Callie her body was not good enough for Playboy and then Callie started getting emotional about her insecurities.

Every guy over the age of 12 years old knows not to say that to a girl and Ty is also looking like the drama queen of the house.  Everyone else seems to be focused on having fun while Ty needs to be the center of attention, literally at all times.

The girls are starting to bond and I do not think any of the guys like hanging out with each other, which is kinda funny.
