Friends, Facelifts and Florida

 

Tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County begins with Vicki shopping for a 15th anniversary gift for her husband Donn. She visits a jeweler she obviously knows pretty well and gets him a $11,500 ring. Vicki is putting together a “Girls Trip” to Florida and calls Tamra to find out if she will go. Tamra has to talk it over with Simon, since they have never been apart during the duration of their marriage.

Alexis decides she is going to take her two virtually-infant daughters for a mani-pedi and says that she is not the type of person who wants to sit and play for nine hours with kids. She majored in marketing in college, and is interested in health and fitness. Uh oh, someone better let her owner/husband Jim know that. Needless to say, the infant children don’t really have the patience to sit silently and get their nails done, and after some torture, Alexis gives up.

 

Lynne and Raquel are both going in for plastic surgery. Lynne gets a brow life and neck lift. Raquel gets a nose job. Alexa is still struggling with her mom and sister having surgery, and Frank is worried and nervous for the girls. Frank says that he “doesn’t put a price on his wife and children’s happiness.” The results are great!

 

Gretchen and Slade take a motorcycle riding class and Gretchen is the class clown. She also kicks Slade’s butt in the practical and will be able to finally ride the Harley Jeff bought her last season.

 

Tamra has had a job offer from Marcos, her realtor. Simon is not supportive of Tamra having a job, and wants her to take care of the kids. He wants to make sure that she is at home and working only part time, even though the show would have you believe they are in the middle of a short-sell on their house and going broke. The older Tamra says she gets, the more she wants to be independent and help support her family. She also brings up Ryan, who is spending 5 days in jail. Tamra doesn’t want to get in the middle of Simon and Ryan, but Simon says that she should give him some tough love while Tamra says she is not going to turn her back on her son. Simon is still upset about the Facebook War they were in, I suppose.

 

Later; Simon (Tamra’s owner), Jim (Alexis’s owner) and Donn (Vicki’s husband) go golfing and discuss the girl’s trip to Florida. Both Jim and Simon refuse to spend one night away from their wives, so it turns out they are inviting themselves. Donn wants nothing to do with Florida and says they weren’t invited from the start. Jim says that he has “no problem with Donn allowing Vicki to go.” Donn says he could never be so clutchy or controlling in his relationship.

 

Gretchen and Alexis meet for lunch, where Alexis lets Gretchen know that she is bringing Jim to Florida. According to Alexis: they have only been apart one day in their marriage, she is from the Midwest and has certain ideals. Jim is a very Godly man. Gretchen is surprised, she did not put them in the “Godly” category. Alexis says that if you allow temptation into your life it starts with just a thought. Gretchen wonders why Jim allows Alexis to wear tight, revealing tops with her two “lures” out for everyone to see and think about if this is the case.

 

Tamra and Simon find a sitter for Florida, although Tamra says she would have preferred to go by herself, but they have a rule about traveling together. Simon is annoyed with Vicki for overstepping her boundaries by giving them relationship advice. Simon thinks he and Tamra have a perfect relationship, Tamra does not think it is a perfect relationship.

 

Godly Alexis goes to get Botox from her plastic surgeon that did her breast augmentation. Apparently she missed the part of the Bible that talks about pride, prudence, hypocrisy and humility…but who am I to criticize? I think this part of the show may really stir up some controversy…

 

Tamra gets right back into the stride of things with Marcos at an open house and says he is a better boss than Simon.
Vicki and Donn celebrate their anniversary. They have a great time and want to do it more often. They snicker and laugh about the strange, possessive relationships of Jim-Alexis and Simon-Tamra.

 

Lastly, Tamra and Gretchen have lunch in Laguna Beach to try and move past their argument. Gretchen still denies a relationship with Jay (although Jo De La Rosa and Jeanna Keough have both mentioned that she had some sort of relationship with him in our past Reality Wanted interviews with them), and refuses to take down her blog that apparently has accusations about Tamra. The future doesn’t look promising for a friendship between these two.
