Tonight’s live results show of So You Think You Can Dance must have each of the eight dancers on pins and needles.  The six that make it through the night will perform on next week’s finale.  You heard me right.  Six dancers will be in the finale… presumably because nobody wants to work the week of Christmas.  Understandable.

The opening number is a Sonya Tayeh piece and it’s awesome.  She’s famous for freezing her dancers in a way that looks like a photograph.  The seven dancers (Ashleigh still isn’t cleared) run and leap and throw each other around the stage.  I’m really hoping this makes the tour. 

Cat brings the four male dancers onto the stage and Russell receives his results first.  He’s safe and in the finale!  Talk about an inspiration to untrained dancers… or just dancers!  Legacy finds out that he’s in danger and then, it comes down to Jakob and Ryan.  It’s not exactly a shocker that Ryan is the one in the bottom and Jakob is the one moving on to the finale.  At this point, though, it’s hard to put anybody in the bottom group.  This is a strong group of guys.

After a break, the four female dancers stand with Cat to find out what America decided.  Kathryn is the first one sent to the finale and the applause aren’t necessarily thunderous the way they were for Russell and Jakob.  Ellenore finds out she’ll be dancing a solo later.  Last, Mollee and Ashleigh stand together.  Mollee was outstanding last night and Ashleigh didn’t dance but America took pity on the injured dancer and put her though to the finale.  Ryan fell to the floor when he realized what had just happened, overcome with emotion for his wife.  Mollee will have to dance a solo.  Now THAT IS a shocker.

An Asian pop group performs… fast forward…

Here’s how the solos went down:
- Legacy takes a page from the League of Extraordinary Dancers and shows off his b-boy skills to classical music.  I think there could be a job waiting for him after this.
- Ellenore has won me over and then some over the last 2-3 weeks.  Also set to classical music, she shows off her technical ability and shows a lot of control and power.
- Ryan doesn’t seem to have a lot of solos does he?  Last week and this week, he did the same one on performance night as results night.  I like the guy but I’m deducting points for that.
- I don’t know what it is about Mollee’s solos but I never quite feel anything watching them.  Yes, she’s a good dancer but I’d love to see her show more heart. 

Before the results are revealed, Kris Allen performs.  Love him!

Results time.  The female dancer leaving the competition is… Mollee.  She can’t help but break down a little and you can’t blame her.  This has to be the worst week to get cut from the competition, other than being eliminated right before Top 10.  The male dancer leaving is... Legacy.  If you were sitting on my couch with me, you would've seen my jaw drop all the way to the floor!!
