The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins

by Matt Anaya

After a few weeks of little drama on the The Ruins, this season quickly became the bloodiest as Darrell knocked Brad silly after a barrage of haymakers.

Brad had been super stressed the last couple episodes and losing nearly every challenge exacerbated the situation, and so did the Jack Daniels. It was KellyAnne’s 23rd birthday and most of the cast celebrated including Darrell, who was guaranteed a spot in the championship and had little to worry about, and Brad.

We found out on the after show Brad, who had sustained from drinking the entire season, joined the party late and started chugging Darrell’s Jack Daniels to catch up with everyone else.

Brad also mentioned on the after show he had been having nightmares throughout the season and said he felt like he was in a nightmare that night. He thought he would wake up while he was a raging psycho, instigating Darrell to hit him, but that never happened.

Brad’s forehead, above his right eye, was bigger than a golf ball and he had to do the final confessional with his right eye completely shut.

The combination of losing, no sleep, stress, and alcohol contributed to the most embarrassing moment of Brad’s life and the odd thing is, Brad and Darrell were very good friends before this and still are.

Brad and Darrell were both kicked off the challenge and for Darrell it was a $30,000 mistake as he was the richest player left.

The Champions easily won the challenge, thanks to their favorite player on the Challengers, Casey. Although Brad would never admit it, and took full responsibility for his actions, you can place most of the blame for his frustrations on Casey.

The Champs voted Johnny in the Ruins and he picked Dunbar as his opponent. Susie, the only girl remaining on the Champs, wanted to pick Casey but she is the MVP and Susie picked Kim as her counterpart in the Ruins.

We were left hanging and do not know who won either of the matchups but we will find out next week. It was a very strange episode and seeing Brad’s face after he got knocked silly was disturbing to say the least.

Power Rankings

1. KellyAnne is last on the list for Susie who is in control of all the women players left.
2. Evan will likely never see the elimination round.
3. Kenny is not going anywhere as long as Johnny Bananas is still around.
4. Derrick is also not going anywhere as long as Bananas is around and he is capable of beating Dunbar in the Ruins.
5. Susie controls all of the women’s futures since she is the only woman left on the Champs team.
6. Casey might be in trouble if Susie beats Kim.
7. Sarah is a wildcard and is very good friends with Susie, who is on the other team.
8. Kim is in the middle of an elimination match round against Susie.
9. Dunbar might go home and …
10. Bananas might too; we find out next week.
