Sundai from Americas Next Top Model

by Gina Scarpa & Michelle Spigner

Last night, on America’s Next Top Model, the final five girls met supermodel Marisa Miller, who taught them how to look sexy in swimsuit shots, as opposed to trashy.  Their photo shoot took place underwater with world renowned photographer Russell James at the helm.  Sundai had a difficult time getting the right shot, due to her asthma, but the judges were not so forgiving in panel.  She was eliminated from the competition and, today, spoke to RealityWanted in an exclusive interview about her experiences on the show.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you try out for America’s Next Top Model?
A. Sundai: I had no interest in trying out because I knew it was for tall girls.  My sister told me it was for short girls and I should try out.  I was like, “Alright I’ll go.”

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How did you fit in with the girls?
A. Sundai: I actually kind of kept to myself.  If there was any dramatic activity going on, I tried not to surround myself with it.  We all got along really well, in a way, even though it doesn’t seem that way.  If you’re gonna mingle with drama, you’re gonna be in drama so it’s best to avoid it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How was it to meet supermodel Marisa Miller?  Did she give you any helpful advice?
A. Sundai: Oh yes!  She was so great!  I didn’t even believe it was her until she walked up and said her name.  It was very nice meeting her. She’s a really great supermodel.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Were you nervous to jump off the cliff for the challenge?
A. Sundai: Oh yeah!  It was more fear than nervous.  I love doing extreme things but that was so scary to me.  As soon as I hit the water, my ear got messed up.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How difficult is it to look beautiful and graceful in an underwater photo?
A. Sundai: I don’t think it’s too difficult but at the same time, it wasn’t working for me.  You have to worry about breathing.  You can get stressed out and have a panic attack.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Why do you think Erin was left out of getting extra frames?
A. Sundai: Erin wasn’t really helping out in the house with everyone.  Everyone was so sweet and so nice but Erin was kind of to herself.  It’s not really a surprise.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Which photo is your favorite?
A. Sundai: My beauty shot was definitely my favorite photo but I like the horse photo.  I love animals so much and it was so fun being around that horse.  Everyone was in a good mood that day.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How do you feel about your journey in the competition?
A. Sundai: I’m definitely more wise to the modeling industry.  I took everything they said and I’m going to apply it to life now.  I got a lot of experience being on the show.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Although all the girls were petite, you were one of the shortest. Was that ever a challenge for you?
A. Sundai: I’m gonna have to see.  I didn’t get to do too many things before the show because I wasn’t accepted, being a petite model.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What’s next for you?
A. Sundai: I’m still going to try and model.  I also really wanna be on The Disney Channel.  I’d also love to do some print work.
