Big Brother 11

Last time on Big Brother 11, Kevin won Head of Household for the first time. Knowing they were in trouble, Jeff and Jordan started to pressure Kevin about targeting Michele. Though Kevin went along with the plan, he also broke his word to Jeff and nominated him, too.

Naturally, Jeff is pissed. After shoving it down Kevin’s throat for the past 48 hours that the two had a deal, that Kevin said if he won HoH he would have kept Jeff safe, blah blah blah, can Jeff honestly be that surprised that it happened? I mean, the guy is just trying to cover his own bases, but I guess it is Jeff’s turn to flip out, which he does.

Sadly, however, he takes some of it out on Jordan by making her feel guilty for losing the HoH. It’s clear that she already felt that way, but he’s just rubbing salt into an open wound and it’s not fun to watch. Again, where’s the Jeff that we all know and love?? It seems as if he’s slowly fading away as the houseguests approach their final days in the house.

After the nomination ceremony, Kevin walks up to his HoH room and sees a large door with a question mark on it—it’s a Mystery Twist! Basically, if Kevin opts to put his hand in “Pandora’s Box,” he could win $10,000, or something bad could happen to him and the house. No surprise, he puts his hand in the box (I would have, too), and something latches on. Flash to outside, where money starts to rain down in the backyard and the other four houseguests start collecting it like mad.

Now the twist: Kevin can only be released after one of the houseguests finds a key and uses it on the box that has trapped his hand. Kevin goes to Natalie first, who agrees to look, but quickly loses track of that task when more money starts to fall. Desperate, Kevin turns to Jeff, who also agrees. Jeff, however, hides the key in a trashcan while he collects a decent amount of money for himself, then frees Kevin, who gets the rest of the $10,000 that his housemates didn’t collect. The final tally for Kevin: $626. High roller!

For this week’s veto competition, everyone gets to dress up like astronauts and step out into the backyard one by one for a morph-tastic veto competition. Each houseguest is shown a picture that is actually two houseguests’ faces melded together and turned green—the first person to identify all the people in each photo wins the PoV.

Kevin and Jeff both struggle with recognizing themselves, while Natalie is completely lost and Jordan doesn’t seem to even understand the competition. Meanwhile, Michele is all business and looks to have the competition down pat. The results are as follows:

Kevin: 3:05

Natalie: 2:55

Jordan: 5:09

Michele: 1:52

Jeff: 3:01

In what could be the biggest “you got screwed” moment of this season, Michele wins the Power of Veto, leaving Jeff on the block against either Jeff or Jordan. You’d think that it could just end at that, but this is Big Brother, so of course not.

Instead, Michele offers to plead Jeff’s case to Kevin because she seems upset that Jeff is sad about being cornered. She tries to make the point (which is a very valid one, by the way) that Natalie is a shoe-in for several jury vote, so bringing her to the end is suicide, which Kevin seems to take into consideration.

Meanwhile, Jordan and Jeff continue to sulk with each other, thinking that they’ll be on the block together this week. They each drink a ton of alcohol, fight a little bit, cry a little bit, then make up, hoping that they can get through this week intact.

At the veto ceremony, Michele uses the veto on herself, putting Kevin in the position to nominate Natalie or Jordan. I’m surprised at how suspenseful I’m feeling now, but maybe it’s just because I want Natalie to go up so bad. Of course, it doesn’t happen and the lovebirds, Jeff and Jordan, are nominated, but I always had that little bit of hope in the back of my mind.

So now America’s favorite couple is nominated and one of them is definitely going home this week. It’s a moment a lot of us didn’t want to see, but realistically, we knew would probably happen. Now that it has, will the houseguests evict Jeff, the much stronger player, or Jordan, his faithfull ally?

Stay tuned to Big Brother 11 on Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS to see who gets evicted—Jeff or Jordan—and who will win the ultimate power for the week as Head of Household!
