ABC Unleashes a New Automotive Competition Reality Show Featuring Challenging Driving Courses Never Before Seen on Television, Hosted by Orlando Jones and Dan Cortese.

RealityWanted member Daniel James ran across the casting call for the Crash Course pilot posted on RealityWanted.com several months ago and his episode aired last Tuesday on ABC. If you missed it you can see Daniel in the trailer below the interview or go to ABC.com and view full episodes.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Tell the readers about how you came across RealityWanted.com?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: I applied for Wipeout on ABC.com and then I decided to Google Wipeout which led me to a link to RealityWanted. I decided to create a profile and it opened me up to the world of reality and game show casting.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com:
Tell the readers about some of the success you have had on RealityWanted.com.
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: I have had a couple of auditions with Millionaire Match Maker from RealityWanted, landed a role on a new dating show, and you know about my gig on Crash Course.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Did you apply to all of the shows you landed on?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: I did apply to Crash Course but the dating show casting director just called me after looking up my profile on the site, I didn’t even apply for it.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Have you used other online sources? What do you like about RealityWanted.com?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: I haven’t used any past casting sites, the only other source I used was the actual TV network site.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Why not simply use network sites?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: Since I have an active profile created with a photo and contact information on RealityWanted I can simply hit the apply now button and send all of my information with one click vs. filling it out in an email. It saves me time since I receive an email each night with the latest gigs and I can apply to the ones I am interested in.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What was the first gig you landed from the site?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: I landed the pilot episode for ABC’s Crash Course.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: When did Crash Course pop up?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: I ran across it in January of 2009.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What was the casting process like for Crash Course?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: In January of 2009 I applied to Crash Course and a week later I got a phone call from casting. They told me they liked me and wanted me to come in but told me I needed a partner since Crash Course uses teams of two. I took my friend and went in for an on camera audition with the casting directors. Three weeks passed before they called us back for the second interview with additional casting directors.  Two days later they asked us both to come in and meet with producers. Finally they called and said they were sending our information to ABC for review and the rest is history.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What advice would you give to people looking to be on a reality show?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: You cannot be intimidated, we had fun with it. I would stress to everyone to be yourself and just have fun since it can be intimidating.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Talk to me about your experience filming and what it was like?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: When we got to the set they gave each set of contestants a personal assistant and they even had trailers set up for us. They then came and explained what Crash Course was all about. We had to put on real Nascar flame retardant suits from undergarments, boots to outerwear. There were a lot of cameras on us all the time, flash bulbs going off non stop, and we were interviewed before and after each challenge.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Did you get to interact with Dan Cortez or Orlando Jones?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: We interacted with them the whole time. They were both hilarious and we got to chat and know one another as people not just celebrities.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What was the best part about taking part in Crash Course?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: Two things come to mind, first off I got to come from a small town and see myself on ABC. I have reconnected with old friends who I lost touch with in high school who watched me on the show. Secondly it was a blast. It was like a comedy show listening to the girls talk about makeup or the sibling’s team auguring, it was a great time.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Did you ever get a scared during the show?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: I wear glasses and during the first challenge my glasses would not fit over the goggles so I had a hard time diving. The other part was the fire and let me tell you it’s very real.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Do you talk to your Crash Course cast mates?
A. Daniel James, Crash Course: I talk to them all the time online and on the phone.

A. Daniel James, Crash Course:  I am in the process of creating and pitching my own reality show idea called The Ultimate Flight Attendant. It will be a reality show about flight attendant training with challenges each week.
