It’s only the first episode of Brooke Know Best season 2 and already the Hogans are addressing the rumors about their family head on. Brooke opens up about not speaking to her mother, Linda, after she found out that Linda was dating 19-year-old Charlie. I know that cougars are in right now, but legally, he can’t even meet her for a drink at a bar. Linda claims she and Charlie have a lot in common, which is true if you count the fact that he and her son Nick are the same age. Brooke sums up the whole situation by calling it “gross.”

On a lighter note, Hulk is dating a woman named Jennifer and encourages Brooke to come to his house to meet her. Brooke first notices is how much she and Jen look alike. There were definitely moments during their one-on-ones when it was hard to tell them apart. Hulk tries to get the two to talk over dinner, but as soon as he left the table, you could hear a pin drop. You can’t blame Brooke, though. From the time she was born, all she every saw were her parents together.  Now, they are divorced and dating new people. She needs some time to adjust.

After seeing how happy Jen makes Hulk, Brooke tries to get to know her by asking her outside for walk. Brooke asks about their relationship, and it seems Jen really cares for Hulk. I thought it was sweet that on the boat ride past their old house, Jen comforted Brooke when she was crying. I just hope she knows what she is getting into. The divorce is painful for both Hulk and Brooke, and she is going to have to be understanding of that.

While on the boat, Hulk mentioned how much it hurts that after all his hard work to build the Clearwater house, which Charlie now lives in. I don’t understand how Linda got the house in the first place. Hulk was clearly the only one with the income. He should fight to get that house in the divorce. Also, if I were Brooke, I would have taken her dogs back when they ran up to the dock. Linda doesn’t deserve the house, let alone the dogs.

In the final few minutes, the father/daughter pair enjoys their last dinner before Brooke goes home. They toast to health, starting over, and love. It has been a crazy year for the Hogans, but they are going to be ok. Hulk and Brooke support each other no matter what and, in time, they will be able to move past the pain. I’m looking forward to seeing where this season takes us. I’m sure we will learn more about the divorce details and, of course, more about Brooke’s music career.

Brooke Knows Best airs Sunday nights at 10pm ET on VH1.
