CW's 13 Leah Lucas

Hey RealityWanted members and reality TV fans, we have another success story to tell you about and a cool reality show you should watch Friday nights on the CW called “13”.  Leah Lucas, a cast member on The CW’s “13” spent some time with us last week to talk about her experience on the show and how her sister tipped her off to the casting call after she spotted it on the site.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Leah, OMG I just watched a few episodes of your show and it looks like the movie SAW but in real life. How did you first come across this casting?

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: My sister is a member of RealityWanted and actually told me about the casting for 13. I went along with her, more so as a chauffeur and I ended up being cast on the show.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Describe the show to readers who haven’t had a chance to see “13”.

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: When people initially hear the title “13 Fear if Real” they assume it’s blood and horror. I tell them it’s a show that challenges and tests the limits of the cast members with horror based themes. We had to face our biggest fear and face things we were afraid of.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: I just watched an episode with you and Stephanie in a sinking boat and she was screaming bloody murder. It certainly appeared like she wasn’t having a good time.

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: Stephanie is deathly afraid of water and snakes and can’t swim. The combination of the three put her over the edge.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: On another clip I saw cages locked around some of the cast members faces with rats inside, this looked crazy and scary.

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: Every single scream was real, we had no direction from production. In fact there was a night when one of the production guys wanted one of us to go with him to the bathroom.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What was it like when you got to the filming location?

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: We had no idea what to expect, in fact I had no idea we were going to New Orleans until midnight the night we left. When we got there we were greeted by a Crocodile Dundee looking guy who started explaining what to do if a crocodile attacked us.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Are you kidding me, I bet that put some fear into you.

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: Exactly, I started wondering what I had gotten myself into.  I realized this wasn’t going to be like The Real World.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What did you think when you saw the place you guys would be living in?

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: When I saw the cabin I thought it looked like a really cool set and that we would probably be staying in a nice house behind it. Then one of the cast members told me that was our house.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: I know you can’t spill the beans but what can viewers expect to see in the upcoming episodes?

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: The killer will be revealed soon and without giving too much away I am getting ready to face some of my biggest fears.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Since you have been through the casting process and your show is currently on air, did you learn anything you can share with others about casting?

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: This will sound so cliché but be yourself. If you try and overdo it casting directors can see through it. If you haven’t climbed to the top of a mountain don’t say you have.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: It sounds like you had a blast filming “13”.

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: I had a blast, I was put into real situations I would have never been put in. How often am I going to be in a sinking boat holding snakes above my head praying for my life.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: That reminds me of another RealityWanted member Rommel who landed a role on NBC’s Americas Toughest Jobs from  RealityWanted. He told me about things he got to do like crab fishing, oil rigging, and so on.

A. Leah Lucas: The CW’s 13: Oh My God I saw the episode with him crab fishing. I didn’t have the same experience, but we both did things we probably would have never done otherwise.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Well thanks a million for taking the time to chat, I can’t wait until Friday to see what happens next. Do you want to share your RealityWanted  URL or Myspace for fans to say hi?

A, Leah Lucas, The CW’s “13”: I do want to thank everyone in casting and production first and tell everyone to tune in this Friday to The CW. My RealityWanted URL is: http://www.realitywanted.com/lucasl2  and my Myspace is
