Recently we had the opportunity to speak with Dave Scott the “man behind the famous moves in box office hits such as “You Got Served”, “Stomp the Yard” and most recently “Step Up 2 The Streets””

Q. RealityWanted.com: Thanks Dave for taking the time with us today. So how did you get into the world of choreography?

A. Dave Scott: I started off teaching myself how to dance. It was sort of a hobby when I first started and then it developed a little. I started teaching and worked with groups like Ginuwine and B2K and later it evolved into shows.

Q. RealityWanted.com: What is your definition of a choreographer?

A. Dave Scott: I would say kind of like a painter. I have a clean canvas and design something that most people would say is visually appealing.

Q. RealityWanted.com: What is your favorite part of being a choreographer?

A. Dave Scott: Being able to create, watch what is in your brain and see it all come to life.

Q. RealityWanted.com: Are you a reality TV fan?

A. Dave Scott: I think it is a good and bad thing. I think it is entertaining and good work for dancers. People just need to get into it for the right reasons. Reality TV isn’t going anywhere. Also I am a big fan of The Biggest Loser, it is a real tear jerker.

Q. RealityWanted.com: So tell me how it is to be a judge on So You Think You Can Dance? Do you have any recommendations for people on the show?

A. Dave Scott: I was a judge last season and this season and it has been a lot of fun. I always recommend to people to not try to go with the trends, be an individual and most importantly appreciate yourself. Never stop. There are always going to be obstacles in your way but if you have the passion don’t ever stop.

Q. RealityWanted.com: What projects do you have coming up?

A. Dave Scott: I am currently working on a project for the Wayan brothers and I will be doing a cameo in it. Also a movie called “Fresh” which is a Polynesian and hip hop blend. Also I will be a choreographer on the next season of “Dancing with the Stars”.
