There’s a popular reality show called America’s Got Talent, but tonight’s episode of Idol proved that Miami has talent.  Although we didn’t get to see all 17 contestants that were put through to Hollywood, it was obvious that the girls dominated the competition for the night.

Syesha Mercado from Miami, Florida has a beautiful voice and a beautiful smile to match.  There is no doubt in my mind that America will love her.

Ramiele Malubay from Miramar, Florida was a tiny little girl with a huge voice. Originally from the Philippines, Ramiele is hoping to prove that an Asian can be the next American Idol.  With a voice like hers, I believe it is entirely possible.

Natashia Black from Fort Collins, Colorado and Ilsy Lorena Pinot from Miami, Florida are also worth mentioning as solid contenders.

The biggest laugh of the night goes to gal pals Corliss Smith and Brittany Wescott from Jacksonville, Florida.  These two ladies were big girls with big personalities.  Not only were they absolutely hysterical but I was a bit shocked that they could both sing as well.  Brittany was great, but I thought Corliss’ voice was flawless. 

There was only one male contestant worth mentioning. He wasn’t the greatest vocalist of the night, but he was handsome, charming, warm, and affectionate with a pleasant voice and a sexy accent. So it was no surprise to me that the judges put him through.  His name is Ghaleb Emachah from Miami, Florida.  Will he win?  Definitely not.  But I think the ladies are going to love him.

My heart went out to one contestant who was also not the best vocalist of the night, but this beauty is definitely talented.  Suzanne Toon from Clearwater, Florida is a single teenage Mom who’s struggling to raise her daughter by herself because the man she was in relationship with walked away after the baby was born. I’m a single Mom myself and I know how hard it is to raise a child all by yourself with little to no financial or emotional involvement from the child’s father.  So I am rooting for this beautiful young lady all the way.

And the weirdo of the night award goes to Brandon Black from Pompano Beach, Florida who was somehow under the impression that not only could he sing, but that he was a comedian too.   Idol…..please…….bring in the white coats!
