NBC's four-time Emmy Award-winning series,"The Voice" returns with a new group of vocalists from across the country invited to sing their hearts out in season 18 of the singing competition.

Joining superstar coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton, Nick Jonas will claim the fourth red chair as a coach this season and Carson Daly returns as host.

Jonas, famed for both solo and Grammy-nominated multi-platinum powerhouse trio Jonas Brothers, has had a successful career in film, television and music. "I'm so excited to be a part of 'The Voice' family," said Jonas in NBC's press release. "It's such an awesome group of individuals, and I can't wait to help these artists really build and hone in to find their unique voices."

Meredith Ahr, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment stated in the press release, "As a member of one of the hottest pop groups, Nick's success in navigating all aspects of the music industry is exceptional," adding, "We were so impressed by his innate musicality, technical aptitude and passion that he brought to 'Songland' earlier this year and know he will be an incredible fit as a coach on 'The Voice.' We are excited to see Nick lend his mentorship, relatability and breadth of knowledge to a new crop of artists."

The innovative format of the upcoming season "features five stages of competition: the first begins with the Blind Auditions, then the Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and, finally, the Live Performance Shows," from NBC.
