I had a nice chat with Nate and Jen this week after their elimination Sunday night from The Amazing Race 12. Jen and Nate have received some criticism about how they treated one another but they were both very kind a extremely positive during our call. I did laugh for a moment when Nate started to cut Jen off and felt like I was having a flashback, but it was a great chat and here is what they had to say.

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: Are you two still together? There were some harsh words exchanged between you two this season.

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: The show was very stressful for everyone. When we got home Jen and I had mixed emotions, so we took a week to cool down and come back to our senses. I love her to death.

A. Jen, The Amazing Race 12: We are still together but this experience on The Amazing Race changed and shaped us a little differently.

Q. Mark: How hard is it not to make it to the top 3?

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: Jen and I are fierce competitors and athletes so it's hard to get eliminated so close to the finals. Jen and I abused one another during the race. We got so caught up in it, sometimes you say things and do things you forget you said and did. It was hard to lose and even harder not knowing where we were with our relationship after the elimination.

A. Jen, The Amazing Race 12: I would definitely say this leg of the race was one of the hardest. We had so much dedication and passion invested in the race and of course it was also my birthday and my birthday wish was to make it to the finals. We were so happy to be in Taiwan and I know I can always look back and think about how cool it was to spend my 23rd Birthday on the show and in Taiwan. With that in mind it's still gut wrenching to not make the last show.

It would have been different if Nate and I had gotten along while on the show. We had a double whammy, not only were we eliminated but we also didn't know where our relationship stood afterwards.

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: Jen, on last nights episode we saw how angry and frustrated you were to see TK and Rachel. You said something about how they don't try hard and just seem happy all the time while you and Nate are busting your butts and stressing out.

A. Jen, The Amazing Race 12: I am going to say that I know TK and Rachel worked so hard and put all their all into this, but their personalities are so mellow and it looked like things came so easy to them. It was frustrating to Nate and I since we were always running like the wind and each time we saw TK and Rachel they were always smiling and mellow. We love TK and Rachel we and are good friends now.

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: Jen and I would run everywhere and arrive there 20min prior, but we would end up waiting, For example, a train we could have gotten on at 7:36 stopped boarding at around 7:20, so we had to wait until the next train at 8:00pm. While we waited some of the other teams caught up with us wich gave TK and Rachel time to do their speed bump.

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: Did your choice of the subway vs. using a cab slow you guys down and eventually lead to your elimination?

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: There are a few things I keep thinking about that lead to our falling into last place and being eliminated. We missed the 7:36 train and were forced to wait until 8:00. We had trouble locating the clown since the girl that helped us lead us astray for 30 minutes, and we received bad directions for the subway. It looked like we ran right to the subway but we actually ran around to a few spots before we found the right one.

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: Is there anything that was cut from the show you wished they would have aired?

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: Jen and I are actually very funny people and viewers didn't get a full perspective as to who we are. We really did enjoy where we were at and most of the time enjoyed one another. I wish viewers would have seen how much fun we really had.

A. Jen, The Amazing Race 12: I wish they would have aired the part in Croatia while waiting for the boat. While we waited Nate, TK, Rachel, and I jumped off cliffs into the ocean, it was beautiful.

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: What has it been like watching the episodes?

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: It was an eye opener, we had no idea what the editing would be like. Jen and I had no idea what to expect. We're very fortunate to take part and learned so much about the world and one another.

A. Jen, The Amazing Race 12: For me, watching us on TV has been really hard since they targeted me as aggressive feisty loud mouth girl, it was eye opener. Watching has helped me transform myself more into a lady and I watch what I say a bit more now.

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: What was your favorite stop?

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: Africa and Croatia

A. Jen, The Amazing Race 12: Africa, Croatia, and Lithuania

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: What was your favorite and least favorite detour or road block?

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: I had the most fun riding the bikes over the ravine in Ireland. Milking the camels in Africa was tough, it looked short on TV but it took about 45 minutes and the camel milk made me sick.

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: What other teams did you bond with and/or will you stay in touch with?

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: We got along well with everyone but truly bonded with Azaria & Hendekea. Since the show ended filming we have become very good friends with TK and Rachel.

A. Jen, The Amazing Race 12: We bonded with Azaria & Hendekea and now hand out with TK and Rachel all the time.

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: What would you recommend to other couples thinking about trying out for The Amazing Race.

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: I would warn couples that it is much harder than it looks. If you're going on a show as a couple and you don't deal well with stress I don't know if it's a good idea for your relationship. Jen and I are strong enough to get through it but it's not easy.

Jen, The Amazing Race 12: Patients is virtue and no matter what you do you can't control the situation you're going to find yourself in, so take it for what it is.

Q. Mark Realitywanted.com: Would you like to share your myspace pages for fans?

A. Nate, The Amazing Race 12: Mine is http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=11224979
